“Am I a good artwork?” Something lies beneath Peem’s question, an almost tentative tone, as if he too is as consumed by this craving as Khem feels.
A small voice in the back of Khem’s head tells him to abandon the brushes, and he’s quick to obey, gathering the violet pigment with his fingertips to run them over Peem’s arm, tracing over his veins and wrapping a paint covered hand around his own. “My best.”
