It took Astarion nearly a century to save enough to get out, another decade to complete the rigorous screening and training process to be accepted into the Weave Institute’s Guardian Program.
The mission was simple. He would be the sole crew member on a small colony ship, watching over the colonists and crew while they were in cold sleep on a journey to a distant corner of the galaxy. The trip would be longer than the human lifespan. Elves were highly sought after as Guardians. Their naturally longer lifespan made them uniquely suited to shepherding sleepers on decades-long trips. The longer the trip the higher the pay.
He would be assisted by the ship's highly advanced AI program, his only companion on the long journey.

“And what does it take?” Astarion finds himself asking. “To sate you?”
“It depends.” A muscled shoulder goes up in an elegant shrug. “I like to be taken. And I’m very, very good at it.”
Astarion’s breath catches in his throat. “Is that it? You like to be… full?”
“In more ways than one.” Gale is drifting closer now, his pupils black as the turbulent storm raging within Astarion. “I like feeling open. Loose. There is a certain exhilaration to having the spend of many dripping out of you.” He pauses, eyes fluttering shut, a soft sigh escaping him.
“Quite nothing like getting your prostate pounded to incoherency, wouldn’t you agree?”
Astarion had anticipated many things on his upcoming semester exchange to Blackstaff Academy. Falling irrevocably for the resident campus bicycle was not one of them.

Gale pulls him in, kissing his lips and moving down his jaw with a hum of playful curiosity. Astarion keeps going, pausing with hitches in his breath when Gale uses that sinful tongue of his.
“Magic man, ah, Gale Dekarios. And the other more—fucking hell— the more obvious one, The Mouth they called you…oh dear what was that last one…” Astarion giggles, both from his teasing and the tickle of Gale’s beard along his neck.
“The Blackstaff Bicycle,” Gale finishes with a chuckle, kissing his way back up to Astarion ear and making him gasp from the sensation of his breath along the sensitive cartilage as he offers, “Want a ride?”
