No, really he is not.
He is over 30 and definitely would know if he was in love with his best friend regardless of what anyone else had to say on the topic. He had his entire sexuality crisis last year so there is no reason why he should suddenly conclude that the fact that being with Eddie feels like breathing means he is in love with him. Just because he is attracted to men does not mean he has to be interested in all of them in his life.
So what if he was glad that the stench of his tequila was dulling his senses and made him smell anything besides Eddie for the first time since moving in? That does not have to mean anything"
