Ed tapped the end call button and let out his own sigh. This work trip (a conference for bar owners and vendors) was just a bit too long for his liking, frankly anything that took him away from Stede for any length of time was too long. It still amazes him how little he tires of Stede’s company. How much fun life had become since they met. And how hard he had fallen so quickly for this man.

Summary
Successful psychiatrist Stede Bonnet, returns to his hometown, Seattle, after his amicable divorce leaves him wanting to seek out a fresh start as a newly-out bachelor. However, when his elderly father suffers a bad fall and is advised he can no longer live alone, Stede's plans to enjoy his new bachelor lifestyle are upended by his father moving in with him.
To assist with his father's injury, Stede decides the best course of action is to hire a physical therapist. Enter one, Edward Teach, a qualified physical therapist seeking out a new life for himself in the states after moving from Aotearoa. He is professional and highly qualified, and seems to be the only candidate for the job whom Stede's father doesn't hate on sight. The only problem? Stede falls head over heels for him the moment they meet and has to grapple with the awkwardness of being hopelessly besotted with his new housemate.
It's crazy anyway, it's not like Ed would ever be interested in him. Right?

Stede’s been a bad boyfriend, he thinks. In the summertime he was able to take Ed out on day trips, shower him with little gifts, take him dancing without a care in the world. Now that ice is growing thicker and thicker on their doorstep, he feels like it’s grown between him and Ed as well. Nothing seems to melt it.
