It’s seven in the morning, and Rumi’s out for a jog on a trail. The day is bright and quiet, aside from the songs of birds and the rustle of leaves; she is never more in her element than when she exists in her own solitude.
“I know you have a crush on Mira and Zoey,” Jinu says as a greeting to Rumi, materializing out of nowhere. Her entire world comes crashing down.
She startles, nearly tripping. What? How the hell could he know that? Did she tell him when she was drunk that night? What else did she confess to? She opens her mouth to deny it, mind numb with panic, but he’s already talking again.
“And I…” he says with a flourish, hand on his chest, “have elected myself to be your wingman.”

Or, Mira, Rumi, and Zoey get caught in the middle of their fans' shipping war—but maybe one ship in particular has more substance than the others.

And now, she’s here, between her first and best friends – and Zoey keeps burying her head in Rumi’s shoulder, whenever she laughs too much; and Mira’s legs are pressed against her own, and the taller girl absentmindedly grabs her hand every now and then.She thinks she might like it - being held like this.

In which the Honmoon is more than just a shield protecting the world from demons - it is a net, is a connection, it binds souls together and never lets them go again. And it has chosen. Throughout the years, the moon prince would send her gifts she wouldn’t be able to procure on her own. Most were rare medicinal items from completed requests. Some, she received out of nowhere. And sometimes, he’d send her incense. Not too expensive though—she’d reproach him for that.
So when a wandering merchant told the moon prince of an incense called “To Be Closest to the One You Desire,” he immediately thought of her. The name sounded poetic. The merchant didn’t want money—only something of value to the moon prince. Skeptical, he obliged.
He sent the incense to the apothecary as a casual thank-you. And that’s when it started.
He began hearing her thoughts—the ones not meant to be said aloud.
Thoughts that left him reeling.
Confounded.
And maybe… wanting more.Or: the JinMao fic where Jinshi starts hearing Maomao’s internal monologues, and absolutely cannot handle it.

His brain was whirring wild with everything he had to do next, because this was an emergency - the apothecary just ingested poison, and she smiled at him as bright as the sun, her spirits still high from the whiff of danger that she had probably been waiting for all this time.
Jinshi hears Maomao mutter something under her breath, and now it's all he can think about. Instead of just asking her what exactly she meant by that, he decides he has to think this all out by himself, because it seems to be the right thing to do in this situation...but, what exactly is this situation? He's about to find out.
Spoilers for BG manga ch. 13, GX manga ch. 9, the LN vol.1/WN arc 1 chapter titled "Misunderstanding", which at the time of writing will most probably be tackled in the anime a few episodes from now!
