    Summary

"Well, you coming back saved my life, at least. So there's that."

Buffy pauses for a second to look at her, and that smile gets brighter and softer all at once in a way that makes Faith's stomach swim in interesting directions. "Hey, I hadn't thought of that."

"That's why you need me around, B," she teases instead of saying any one of the million things she wants to, "I'm the brains of this whole operation."

    ---

or: In between accidentally totally crushing on the cute new slayer, Faith plays (reluctant) therapist to the Scoobies. Somebody's gotta clean up this mess, after all.

(a companion piece from Faith's POV following my season 3 AU wherein everyone has more feelings about Buffy's time in LA, and it takes some time to sort them out.)

    Summary

Buffy realizes pretty quickly that when you come back from the missing-slash-presumed-dead, no matter how many questions people ask, there are some things they don't want to hear about. Cordelia, strangely, serves as a source of comfort: their feet move in perfect time until the brunette girl turns abruptly to face her.

"You fucked up," Cordy says, matter of fact. She's not being kind, but she's not being cruel, either. She's just being Cordelia, which is strangely reassuring. "I don't know what you were going through, and to be honest, I don't think I want to, because it was probably really dark and scary and horrifying. But you shouldn't have left. The answer is never leaving."

A season 3 AU in which Buffy comes back from L.A. to strained relationships, Faith accidentally becomes the Scoobies' therapist, and everything goes a little better when characters can learn how to have healthy, open communication.

(Or: Dead Man's Party did not do justice to the amount of emotional aftermath from the season 2 finale/season 3 pilot, so I stretched those arguments and rebuilding trust out across most of season 3. And now Buffy's friends with Gunn. There, see? Better already.)

    Summary

A series of unfinished/abandonded prompts, concepts, and story snippets. These are all up for grabs, if you're interesting in using them--or if you just feel like reading a few concepts to get your own writer's block out of the way for once :) If you do end up using one of these, let me know--I'd love to read it!

    Summary

In a desert, with the first slayer and the sand and bones that quiver beneath her feet, with a legacy too wide to grasp, she learns that death is her gift. She scowls and argues and knows it's all pointless.

The desert trip was a fucking waste of time.

She's always known death is her gift.

    ~OR~

An introspective on Buffy throughout the years, and what, exactly, the effects of being 'one girl in all the world' might be.
