The last time Rhodey was this terrified, he was surrounded by gunfire in an Afghan dessert, watching his best friend being hauled away by terrorists. Seeing Tony disappear through a worm hole above New York City was a close second. But the current situation was definitely up there.
After suffering another severe concussion, Stephen is called in to try and help Tony, initiating a series of events that will either bring them back together again, or force them apart for good.

Jon’s eyes skirted over Martin’s face, not quite settling there. He wasn’t able to see him. But it was clear Jon could tell that something was there.
Martin stared at the tired misery on his face slowly giving way to muted fear and, yet, the slightest flicker of hope.
“Hello?” Jon whispered in the space between them. His eyes traced the space Martin sat without really seeing him, a furrow appearing between his brows. After a moment, Jon bit his lip, and whispered, hesitantly, “Martin?”
Martin slowly straightened in his seat, entranced by that expression on Jon’s face. He was clearly wary, tired. But there was that hint of hope around his eyes and the set of his mouth. And he was so, devastatingly lonely Martin could smell it.
Martin wanted to eat him whole.

Jaskier was part fae. A quarter to be precise.
There was an old superstition among humans that names held power, but for fae it was so much more than that. Names meant control. If you knew a fae’s name, their true name, they would be completely at your will. If someone knew your true name you were nothing more than their servant. A slave. All it took was a single command.
When war breaks out between neighboring kingdoms, Jaskier's father uses his true name and commands him to marry a witcher as part of a peace treaty. Neither Jaskier or Geralt are particularly happy with the arrangement. But as Jaskier gets to know him better he realizes that the witcher might just be able to give him the thing he's always craved. Freedom.

It’s him. The guy from earlier who smiled at the baby, now looking down at him with hazy eyes and sweat soaking his roots and turning them dark.
“Sorry!” Baby-man shouts over the music and the crowd.
“Hi,” his mouth says in the absence of rational thought.
The guy does a double-take and seems to actually see him this time, gaze sharpening as it rakes him from head to toe leaving goosebumps in its wake. Then he smiles, wide and bright like he doesn’t know or doesn’t care that his front teeth are a little too big or that blatantly wearing his interest on his face is outside of the social norm. “Wanna dance?”
