However, his heroism leaves him a petrified husk in the center of Mondstadt's main square. Mondstadt is eager to enshrine him in legend – how could they not, with the statue right there? Diluc abhors the sentiment.
After all, commemorating Kaeya's heroism is tantamount to accepting his death.

Jing Yuan’s laughter came out of his mouth almost immediately, bending over as he slapped his knee with his hand, tears in his eyes. Yanqing stared at the cutting board. “General, this means I’m super strong!”

“What is that, by the way?” He gestures at Jumpy Dumpty in Klee’s hands.
“I made it!” Klee says happily, holding it up in two hands up in the air for Al-Haitham to take a closer look. Then she takes it back close to her chest and swings it around. “It’s looooots of fun, and it keeps me company in solitary confinement, and it protects me from all the ugly monsters out in the woods.”
“Solitary confinement?”
“That’s only because of the fish,” Klee says flippantly. “Among other things. Anyway. It’s one of my best friends!”
“And it protects you how?” Al-Haitham says carefully.
“Oh.” Klee blinks. “It’s a bomb.”
Al-Haitham stands up suddenly. “Let’s go find your gege, okay?”
In her search for Kaeya, Klee unwittingly becomes the catalyst for Al-Haitham and Kaveh's relationship. According to her, love is much simpler than they give it credit for.

He could hardly be truly upset, how often had he flung himself into his Father’s bed?
“Kaeya? Are you okay?” Father yawned, waking at the gentle pokes no matter how exhausted he was from the day. “What’s wrong little one?”
Klee has a nightmare and breaks into Kaeya’s house, Kaeya takes care of her just like he was taken care of by his father.

At night, Diluc notices a light coming from the treehouse near Dawn Winery. While he investigates, he reflects on the history surrounding the treehouse - and when he arrives, he realizes that it may not have been some criminal's newfound hideout as he had initially assumed.
Or: The treehouse in the small patch of forest behind Dawn Winery hasn't been touched in years, which makes it a wonderful place to reminisce. And, in Klee's case, a wonderful place to hang out with Kaeya.

“Only immediate family can come into the back with the deceased,” he said sharply. Hua Cheng’s brows rose, and then his left hand grabbed Xie Lian’s, their fingers tangling together.
