“…Yes.” Kim confirms, trying to hide a smile. “An apt summary, really.”
“You know, I became a junior officer at nineteen–” The captain flourishes his hand toward Gottlieb, “–Ah, Nix could tell you about those days. I’ve been a cop almost forty years, and this? This takes a whole bakery full of cakes, boys. What next, an escaped lion from the god damn zoo?”
Pryce’s shrug is exaggerated; the lieutenant is mildly amused.
