It had been her mistake, for allowing him in her bedroom after seeing him land on a roof across her balcony on a random night a few moons ago. After all, if you feed a stray dog, it will eventually come back. In this case, though, a stray cat may be more fitting.
Marinette felt the guilt bloom inside her chest, quickly pushing herself up into a sitting position. Chat Noir did the same, his expression exposing the confusion the superhero was feeling as he slowly raised his hands in surrender.

He looked at Chloé with a shrug and a look that was less familiar and friendly than the one Adrien used to give his old friend. “We haven’t run into those all that much yet.” He hummed. “How do we prove that we’re the real deal, m’lady?”
“It doesn’t even matter—we’re leaving right away. We just need to give you this flash drive—”
“A flash drive?” repeated Max as he righted his glasses. “With what? Why bother giving it to us?”
“It’s really difficult to explain…” muttered Ladybug. She shuffled her feet a little and put her free hand on her hip. “Our Kwamis—the beings that give us our powers—somehow… felt that things weren’t going all that great here. They practically begged us to help them fix it.”
