Summary
Instead of colliding, like Grian is apt to do, he slows to a stop and lands clumsily a few feet away, nervously approaching, “I uh, I missed you buddy—”
“Oh, come here,” Mumbo sighs exasperated, and closes the distance, pulling Grian in for a fierce hug.
“Why are you back so early?” Grian asks, face buried in Mumbo’s chest.
“Missed you,” Mumbo says, a half-truth.
Or;
Season 9 sees Mumbo taking his long-overdue break, but midway through he decides he can't keep away from Grian any longer, not to mention the toll of his soul being so far away from his body was taking on him. -

Summary
Bird reaches for her, and snags her hair, holding firmly and tugging her down to a kneeling position. Pearl shrieks, and Bird only pulls harder, pain erupting at her scalp.
Bird leans down, her mouth next to Pearl’s ear and she growls, “This is what you’re going to do. You are going to get up, pick up the axe, and strike both of them down, no matter the cost. Only then, will I find forgiveness in my heart for your failings.”
Pearl gasps as she tugs again, another sharp pain adding to her pounding headache.
“Do you understand?” Bird’s voice is dangerous, and Pearl can’t think.
“Yes,” She croaks, because she knows this is what Bird wants. She wants Pearl to admit she was wrong, she wants Pearl to obey.
She wants Pearl to come crawling back.
Or;
Pearl has lived her entire life as a Watcher, and when she finally has had enough and abandons all she has ever known, she learns how to live and love in the arms of Gem and Impulse.

Summary
"Xelqua," He gasps, "Xelqua, please help me. Please, I just wanted to help them, please they were children— please, how could you do this Exi-"
"Easy ᔑꖎ↸ᒷʖᔑ∷ᔑリ, I've got you."
Xisuma's breath whistles past his lips, and he leans back into the solid weight wrapped around him. He tilts his head up and glances at the face over his shoulder.
It is Grian— right yes, Xelqua. His friend of many years is the same god that did not answer his prayer on the worst day of his life.
Or;
Xisuma and Grian work through their religious trauma previously thought to be on two completely different sides of the spectrum, now known to be far more intertwined than they could've imagined. Pearl meanwhile, finds her place in a world she should've always been part of, and it can be hard to fit a god into the part a player is meant to play, but with Her hermits and one hell of a soup recipe, she makes due.

Summary
“We are Watchers,” She growls, and it is his turn to shudder, and edge back, “Now leave us.”
His gaze turns to Drei’stahl and Zee’Lanah forces down the apprehension, there is no time for that, especially not in front of a human.
“You’re—” He stares further, Drei’stahl clenches her hand and bears her teeth at him, a low, nigh silent grumble tearing from her chest.
“Terra,” He says, reaching out and grasping her by the arm.
She jerks in place, a whine building in her throat, and Zee’Lanah’s stomach is filled with a terrible sinking. These fledglings cannot handle a mention of their past life—not with the way their brains have been scrambled.
Or;
Dream has never given up on searching for his baby sister. It pays off.

At least I hope so.

Summary
There’s a lightning shaped scar to the right of Tommy’s spine. Tubbo remembers now, not all of it. But enough.
Tommy gets home from his trip, Fundy is no where to be found. Quackity plays a game of detective. Then, after five months of being in the hospital, Tubbo is discharged. What goes up must come down. Tubbo experiences with drawls.
Or;
“Wil,” Phil greets as he opens the door, there’s a clink of ceramic against wood and the mouth watering scent of fresh bread along with a waft of seasoned meats.
“Hey dadza,”
“Hey son,” He says, and the bed dips as he sits on the edge. Wil runs his fingers along the crinkles in his blanket, the knitted blue one, made by the dent.
“Talked to Fundy some. Smart kid you got yourself there.” He says.
“Yeah, he’s great.”
“Wil,”
“Yeah?”
“I think you should get some help,” He gently tousles Wil’s hair, and when his son doesn’t lean away from his touch, he continues to play with it gently.
Wil’s eyes stay firmly shut in his silence.
“Yeah.” He finally agrees, “I think I should too. Furry bastard convinced me.”

Summary
Tubbo wears Tommy’s coat. Tommy has to go see his dad again. Eret continues to be the pinnacle of wisdom.
Or;
“I set this up, by the way,” Tommy starts, uncharacteristically soft spoken. It’s a foreign sound coming from him, “The beehives.”
“I love bees,” Tubbo says, fondly watching the bee crawl on its perch from the back of his hand, leaving dusty pollen in its wake.
“Yeah,” Tommy says, then even quieter, “It’s for you,”
Tubbo blinks. Then blinks again. His eyes sting and he’s not all that sure why. There’s a hand embroidered patch of the L’Manberg flag sewed on Tommy’s jacket, directly over his heart. Why is the world so blurred and filled with static? Can he not just rest?

Summary
Wilbur wakes up from the dead, Tubbo has visions of a past life. That’s not important. What is, is that Tubbo’s been drugged and now his memory is a static filled, broken mess. Fundy finds help from an unlikely, yet welcome place.
Or;
“Eret,” Fundy announces, like this is some bold declaration, “I don’t know why you did what you did, and I don’t know if I’ll ever understand.”
He cuts himself off and reigns in his emotions. Then, making eye contact with them through the shades, he says, “I forgive you.”
“Fundy-“ And they sound close to tears, but Fundy keeps going.
“I forgive you, I have for a while now, and I just thought you should know that.” Fundy says, then steps forward and grabs Eret in a hug.
For a few painful seconds, they don’t move and Fundy’s completely stiff, tail fluffed and ears completely rigid. Then Eret coughs, then hiccups and then Fundy realizes they’re crying, and finally, finally, they’re hugging him back.

Summary
It really all goes to shit when Tubbo’s house gets broken into. But that was months ago. Now, it’s all snowballed into a terrible, overwhelming mess and now Wilbur’s dead and Tubbo’s the one in prison for it.
Or;
“Fuck you Tubbo.” The man outside of his cell rasps, like the scratch of a music disk starting up in the jukebox. There’s a connection there, one so easily made if he could just muster the energy to make it. But still, nothing.
The world is overlapped by static. He suddenly remembers that conversations work two ways.
“I don’t even know who you are.” Tubbo drones, mindlessly.
There’s nothing but the angry crunch of boots as the man leaves, and with him goes the static. The world is calm and he can breath again.
Sometimes recovery isn’t possible until you discover that you want it.
