“This is...very different,” he murmured, his accent thick and rolling around the words as if testing them on his tongue. “What’s gotten into you?”
“Would it really be so bad,” Jayce began, speaking against the edge of Viktor’s lapel. “To share a name along with our dreams? Because I’d gladly take yours if you’d give it to me.”
Jayce's attempts at getting Viktor out of the lab lead to the pair becoming regulars at a coffee shop near the bridge. Things go well until an innocent misunderstanding nearly throws a cog into everything they've built between them.

He comes awake with a tired moan, too tired still to move much, though his body languidly obeys him when he takes a shaky breath and feels the weight of heavy fingers on his chest.
And what could it be but a demon, when he opens his eyes and the moonlight catches in its flowing, flickering hair, like starlight by a campfire, like the great wide expanse of the night above the sea? Its eyes are like a mirror, wild and excited and when he feels a flash of embarrassment at what he’s thinking, he sees the demon smile a little, exhilarating as if that flush on his face is for the creature’s sake.
