"When Arthur had, in idle moments, thought of the potential of John’s body, he had envisioned a form as large and solid as John’s voice was dark and deep. In their moments of deepest connection, he had imagined being wrapped in sturdy arms, pulled back against a broad chest, a giant leaning down to whisper in his ear, a tiger encircling him. In reality, John’s physicality is more like a spoiled housecat.
'One would think,' Arthur says into the rumpled night, 'That our experiences would have given us a higher tolerance for discomfort.'
John scoffs and wiggles in closer, front pressed to Arthur’s back shoulder to ankle, left arm tight around his side, hand loosely clutching Arthur’s nightshirt, right above his heart.
'Why the fuck would it work that way? We suffered enough, I want to be comfortable now.'"
In which they get to be comfortable, and Arthur learns John's body.

"I’m not quite sure what you mean." An absolute fiction, of course, but Arthur is British; sometimes it happens. They've never quite determined how much John is able to sense parts of their body that he doesn't control. Arthur wonders if he feels the pulse of their blood quicken, how the catch of a breath translates without ears.

“John,” Arthur says, reaching out. His grasping hand makes contact with nothing, and he laughs as a single tentacle threads through his fingers, a parody of an embrace. “You’re back.”
“No,” John says, even as he caresses the side of Arthur’s face with a familiar hand, wooden pinkie brushing along the line of Arthur’s jaw. “I’m … I don’t know if I can return to you, Arthur.”
“What on earth are you on about?” Arthur steps closer, into the shadows. A chill skitters across his skin, gooseflesh bubbling up instantly, and he shivers as the tentacles wrap around him, keeping him close and safe. “You’re right here.”
“You’re dreaming.”

John, after reuniting with the King, is able to draw on the King’s powers to appear in Arthur’s dreams.

You could try it on, John said, slowly, hesitantly and Arthur didn't know why he in response just wordlessly raised the bracelet so John could take it from him. There was a click, quiet yet somehow unfathomable loud in the silence of the room and then Arthur felt the bracelet close around his wrist.
John's hand lingered for a moment too long, the warmth of his skin a sharp contrast to the cold metal and Arthur felt himself shudder slightly. Then John's hand moved away and Arthur was left with only the feeling and weight of the bracelet around his wrist. "How does it look?" Arthur asked. Good, John replied almost immediately. You … it looks good, Arthur.
John starts gifting Arthur jewelry. It takes both of them a while to figure out why exactly.

They’re thick and glistening with slime, with suckers that run along their undersides. He watches while they grope for him. One catches at his ankle and, finding him, begins coiling upward around his legs.
Arthur smiles and reaches out to another. “Hello, John.”
It nudges at his hand like a happy cat seeking pets.

In the pit Arthur dreamed. Not all of his dreams were nice.

Summary
The blessing turns into a real miracle when weeks go by and the topic of the dress stays as latent as the item itself. Showed away as it was only possible, practically invisible, yet still undeniable in its presence. Arthur was just thankful he was allowed a little calm before the storm. For far too long he felt like the more accurate phase for him was a little storm before the hurricane.
OR
Arthur bought a dress, now he only needs to wear it.
