He liked soft things and flower crowns and makeup and honestly couldn’t care less about gender rules, so it really wasn’t a surprise that dumb high schoolers were picking on him. Phil wasn’t popular either, but from much different reasons. He was quiet and intimidating and charming in a dark way, (you haven’t heard that from Dan) full of black ink and metal piercings.
