Summary
As always, the classic high-school rumour mill is never completely reliable. Sure, there are those stories that fly around that turn out to be true—like the one about Niall getting with a model at a party a few months ago (which Louis still struggles to believe)—but this ‘rumour’ has so many versions, and none of them are actually right.
The Sixth Form AU where Louis is the footie team captain, Harry is head boy, and no one at school has any idea that the two of them are in love.

At Louis’ grin, Harry plops down on the edge of his bed and lets out a heavy breath. “Why are you here, Louis?”
The older boy’s face falls, and his eyes drop to his soaked-through Vans where he kicks them back-and-forth on the carpet, his shoulders moving in a shrug. “I’ve sort of been noticing how you’re not there with me all of the time, and I’m not a fan.”
“Is that your way of saying you miss me?”
Louis’ eyes flick up to Harry for a second before moving away as a small smile appears on his closed lips. “Steady on, Harold.”

Louis opens his mouth to retort something in return, but he closes it just as abruptly. Harry is trying to go against Louis by using Louis’ own words, and Louis’ never been one to argue with himself.

Louis' eyebrows furrow together. “Why what?”

A cold wind blows past the two of them, ruffling Louis' fringe and brushing a loose strand to the front of Harry's face. Louis' mouth turns dry as he goes over what Harry's just asked him, trying to pick apart the tone and telling himself that it wasn't one of disappointment.
“Do you...” Louis clears his throat. “Do you want it to work?”
Harry bites his lip and moves closer. His eyes shift between Louis' lips and eyes slowly.
Louis is sure that his heart is trying to beat out the melody to 'Flight of the Bumblebee'.
“I don’t know...would it be something to remember?”
Or an AU where they find themselves with superpowers, and Louis is Harry's Kryptonite.

Harry takes a week long trip to Paris to build up a good portfolio for his upcoming apprenticeship interview. What he doesn't expect is to meet Louis, who is as beautiful as the Eiffel Tower (if not more so).

“What are you doing?” Louis asks bluntly, his eyes moving across the numerous stuffed animals and a Barbie doll in a circle on the picnic blanket Harry is sitting on.
“I’m, uh, having a tea party,” Harry replies nervously, hands wringing together on his lap.
Louis considers what used to be his normal response to this sort of situation – like when he’d catch the younger kids at the house talking to their imaginary friends and then proceed to take the piss out of them until they cry (he’s not cruel; they’re just not old enough to understand his teasing, he swears) – but completely changes his mind when he sees a worried look shining in Harry’s eyes.
“That sounds cool,” Louis comments, hesitating before adding his enquiry: “Am I invited?”
Despite having pretty much everything a boy his age should want, Harry still feels like there's something missing. That something appears to be Louis Tomlinson.
