Time-travel fic that looks like serious business. The Harry/Tom interactions are INTENSE and I can't even blame it on the UST yet. And, it might be worth pointing out, Tom is the one time-travelling in this, and they're both older, more mature.

I feel like I shouldn't be so delighted over some characters having a huge temper and being able to be mean to Bilbo once in awhile. I am, though, because it makes an awful lot of sense that not everyone is going to look up to him, always, just because he's the main character. But the characterization, here, it's actually loads of fun, and it's one of the things that make this fic outstanding.
On a lighter note, Bilbo and Thorin are cute idiots in love.

Thorin jammed his phone back into his coat with a touch more force than was really necessary as he let himself into his penthouse apartment at the top of Erebor Tower. A disastrous day reassuring shareholders over the ramifications of the Keystone executive decision - which in Thorin’s opinion had no real fucking bearing on Erebor Inc at all, so fucking what if the Obama administration was pushing a climate change agenda - had culminated in that ridiculous Independent tweet fiasco.
Which had naturally, given the nature of the internet, promptly gone viral. Thorin was going to murder the editor at the Independent. Slowly. Contemplating the intricacies of hiring professional hitmen, Thorin shouldered off his suit jacket, stalking over to his bedroom to hang it on the rack, and stopped dead on his way through the living room when he saw Bilbo in the kitchen, produce arranged in neat piles on the benchtop, arms dusty with flour to the elbows, shirt sleeves rolled high.

Summary

Bilbo Baggins is a perfectly respectable gentlehobbit whose adventuring days are firmly behind him, thank you very much. He has missed nothing over the past five peaceful years, except for company, excitement, and the chance to finally meet a dwarf.
It’s then, of course, that an entire colony of dwarves happen to end up in the Shire, on the road to a new life in Belegost and eager to celebrate the Prince’s coming of age ball. Hot on their heels is Gandalf, offering Bilbo a spectacular chance: to attend the dwarven ball as one of them.
In retrospect, agreeing was never going to have been the best option to keep his quiet life. Especially after he runs into King Thorin— literally— and manages to be just a little too convincing in his new form.

They find the Shire, rich in food, but reluctant to trade with strangers. What better solution than an arranged marriage? Hobbits get a connection to the dwarves, the dwarves solve their trade dispute.
Bilbo Baggins just happens to be the only hobbit willing to do it.

Frodo is definitely too young to enter into an arranged marriage with a dwarven king called Thorin Oakenshield. It's a good thing that Bilbo is there to chaperone him through their courtship.
After all, there's no chance that a fussy hobbit bachelor would ever catch the eye of a king.

ARRANGED MARRIAGE AU EXCEPT IT DOESN'T COUNT SINCE ONE OF THEM ISN'T THE OTHER'S INTENDED ROFL.
No, but that's not just the trope though.
This one is romance written the way I love it best : When every step of the romance isn't painstakingly spelled out for you, and you have to figure it out with the little clues, or find out at the end what the heck that was about. Yummy characterization. The pace is also very nice. -

One small thing can change the course of history and what happens there after.
What would have happened to the Company of Thorin Oakenshield if Bilbo had not realised that it was the light of the moon on Durin's Day that revealed the hidden doorway?
What would happen if the dwarves of Erebor had not reclaimed their mountain home when they did?
After being unable to open the door into Erebor, Bilbo and the dwarves; discouraged and despondent, make their way back down the mountain and prepare to return to Laketown to retrieve their comrades who are still there and then return to their respective homes.
Noticing the general air of upset surrounding them, especially their leader, Bilbo does the only thing a gentlehobbit can in such a situation; offers for the dwarves to return with him to the Shire as a way to recuperate before they return to Ered Luin and break the unfortunate news that they could not enter Erebor in time to retake it.Bookmarked by Epervier

Gandalf calls upon his old friend's son for the matter of another adventure, and Bilbo is willing to go, although he is hardly aware of the secrets his company keeps, or the problems that will be borne from it.
