When both doors to the backseat of his car were opened, Gale caught the undeniable smell of tequila and was reminded of a terrifying scene in a film he saw as a child, the scene where an inebriated stranger hijacks the backseat of a car and strangles the driver to death with their belt. He knew that wasn’t real or likely to happen at all, but that didn’t change the fact that someone was going to enter his bloody car - someone so drunk that they did not realise that he was in fact, not their Uber.
“Oh, um, I think you have the wrong –”

Summary
When someone writes upon their own skin, that writing is copied onto their soulmate, if they have one. No other marks are copied. Astarion had feared not having a soulmate, then feared having one, then feared never meeting them.

As long as they have access to water, some can even last months without biting into a hamburger or tasting the sweetness of strawberry jam on a biscuit hot out of the oven. There are drawbacks, of course, to skipping meals. Dizziness, fainting, weight loss too quick for the body to adapt to.
It’s Astarion's first table of the day. The dull, slow thump of his heartbeat rushes past his ears. His knees buckle with every step. He’s falling apart, he knows this, but with ten cents in the bank and another few days to wait until his paycheck comes in, all Astarion can do is keep putting one foot in front of the other and hope he doesn’t collapse. There’s no time to think about the metaphorical hand tightening around his stomach and throat.

Astarion is so used to being used by everyone around him he can't figure out this new member of their merry band of weirdos wants. The druid is helpful, almost too helpful, but doesn't seem to just want to sleep with him. He isn't used to having someone stir up real feelings in him and he can't decide if he likes it.
All he is sure of is that he has become addicted to the taste of the man's blood, and is becoming addicted to the man himself.

“Good night Astarion.” The man rumbled. “May your trance be peaceful.”
Astarion blinked, then blinked again. That was impossible. No one turned him down, well except Tav but Tav was special. He could smell the alpha’s arousal. The man wanted him. But was already reaching for the tent flap to eject Astarion like a drunken mistake.
He blamed what he did next on his post feeding drunkenness and his desperate need to find familiar ground with the man.
He darted forward and kissed the man. Halsin froze, his hand halfway to the tent flap. Astarion had managed to surprise him, he had reasserted dominance.
He pulled away.
“Goodnight, lover.” He drawled.
The flush on Halsin’s cheeks made the whole strange encounter worth it.

Astarion is the only Alpha who has been to TAV (Targeted Abuse Victims), a group therapy that mostly deals with Omegas. As an "out" vampire, the staff know he's been a part of the group therapy sessions for over 200 years now, he's dependable and calm as far as Alpha's go. Always wearing heavy scent blockers, and speaking softly and infrequently to avoid startling the Omegas. But when a new Omega named Gale joins the group, he becomes the first in over 200 years to catch the Alpha's eye. Unfortunately, a little heat mishap leads them both into having to navigate a new relationship while also fighting a legal battle. Good thing Astarion's a lawyer.

Summary
Gale feels lost and adrift after they defeat the Absolute. Everyone has gone on with their lives. Everyone but him. He blames loneliness on calling the incubus's name. It was a foolish thing to do, incubi names have power and he had only met them for a few short minutes while stealing the Orphic Hammer. To be fair, he thought they were dead. And seeing as he had been one of the people to kill them, it was not surprising that seeing them appear in front shocked him.
By the fourth time he summoned them he started running out of reasons. He just wanted to feel wanted, and he knew he could. As long as he kept his budding feelings to himself.

Then Zariel showed up and Astarion was left having to save Halsin this time around. And he is going to need some infernal assistance.

Astarion felt the ground beneath his feet shift as the portal opened. He tried to step away from it, but Hope was still gripping his arm. He growled and shook the grip off. Handing the pups to her. He moved towards Halsin. Vines slid through the portal and grabbed him.
He snarled and tried to fight them.“Halsin!” He cried.
When the druid turned to him his eyes were wrong. There was an inky blackness creeping into them. The alpha grimaced and raised his hand.

Halsin doesn't really need to see what's happening in that storeroom to know what's going on. The two had snuck out to have fun, which they couldn't have with the room above's layout.
He in fact, doesn't need to go look, at all.…But there's a curiosity in him that burns in his chest, spreading warmth into his face.
It'd been a moment since he'd been intimate with anyone- much less heard any talk of it from the party he adventured with. The fact that Gale and Astarion, two men who had seemingly done nothing but bicker any time they were paired together, were sneaking off with each other in the middle of the night gave Halsin a great curiosity indeed.So he stands from his chair and carefully makes his way to the storeroom. Making sure to bump into no one, to make as little as noise as possible- hoping that no one would notice him walking to the storeroom as well.
Just a glance, he tells himself.
