Summary
An ill-thought through party in the woods leads to you getting lost with a dead phone and no way to know where you're going. When all seems lost you stumble across a cabin hidden in the dark depths of the surrounding trees. In classic horror movie hero fashion you find yourself entering the creepy house to find more than you bargained for; including quite a few skeletons unearthed from the closet.

In the 1850s, when monsters and humans coexisted and the land was divided by countries and nations, one thing stood out. And apparently, it was you.
A slave, who spent her whole life working in the mansion of Mt. Ebott. You were a kind and well-mannered woman, as the scars trickling up your body could be proof of your discipline. You knew to speak little of yourself, you knew never to disobey the orders the head maids gave you, and always to know your place. Almost as if they treated you no different than a dog. So to speak, it was your life, and the reason why the head maids kept you alive. But little did you know you'd become the interest of the Lords that would arrive once a century.
The Lords you- the maids cared the mansion for. Fighting battles and travelling from one land to another consistently, they needed a place to rest, therefore the purpose of the mansion resting on Mt. Ebott. And since these maids were more than ecstatic for the upcoming arrival of these lords, you were wise to avoid them. Sorta.
Who knew dressing and acting differently would only attract unwanted attention? And they sure had a bone to pick with you.

When you were ten years old, your parents sent you to stay with a relative of yours from Ebott. Their villa was situated up on the mountainside, and you loved to explore the forestry. One day the ground gave out and you fell Underground, and faced terrors beyond your imagination. You were missing for weeks.
After you managed to miraculously return to the surface, your parents were relieved - but deeply troubled by your 'delusional ramblings'. They were convinced you were 'crazy', and feared how that would reflect on their reputation. Your doctors advised sending you to an in-patient psychiatric facility, which is where you spent the next few years in intensive therapy and counseling.
15 years later, you're a young adult with a somewhat manageable grip on life. You keep your head down, attend the social events that are expected of you, and try to be as unnoticeable as possible. Your parents arranged a suitor for you, and you're to be wed within the next year.
That is, until, those monsters your parents and doctors tried to convince you weren't real suddenly crawled out from the Underground. And they're a lot different from what you remember.

Kinda did skip the beginning of the few chapies to get the part where they all come out ngl. But it’s such wonderful writing! I was just too excited.
MC is a whole OC, but most of the writing is in the Reader’s POV so it’s nice. She escaped the underground when it was softer-ish but it soon became harsher. Mc has a shitty fiancé UGHHH. Love Sans. And papyrus is so freaking and funny, not abusive.
Stayed in Chapter 27.

I’m enjoying this bitty book a lot. It makes my heart ache so much though 😭 MC is getting abused by her boyfriend and Edge made it a bit worse accidentally but he regrets it. I’m so sad he lost his Superior. It hurts my freaking heart. At least MC and edgy have each other now and I just hope it gets better for them.
