In 1989, Hawkins High Hellfire club wins their most stressful tournament and scores a trip to a National D&D event.
When their plane crashes in the Canadian wilderness, the teens and their family members must learn how to survive on their own without letting their humanity slip. Stuck in the wilderness for 18 months, the unlucky crash survivors do horrific and imaginable things just to survive.
25 years later, the survivors must come to terms with the guilt of what they did during their time cut off from civilization. They must question if they did what they did to survive or if they really were twisted.

Summary
Once a year, every year, one boy and one girl are selected from each of the twelve districts on Reaping Day. They are sent to the Capitol where they will then fight to the death on a televised program. One victor will emerge from the twenty-four tributes, and the prize will be endless riches and glory. The Hunger Games serves to remind the districts that they must be punished for how they betrayed their provider, but it also shows the benevolency of their Capitol. The Capitol can give, and the Capitol can take.

The sun was just a lightbulb in the sky and wouldn't offer him any warmth to help his frozen skin, only making him feel sticky with blood and sweat. Abandoned cars remained on the streets, scattered where they'd crashed into the buildings or into each other, with the odd body sticking out of a smashed windowscreen.
They were moving. The people who had killed themselves in their own panic were moving even after death, and he watched their sluggish movements with pity. A few were walking.
Maybe he was the last one out here; he really didn't know. Nor did he care. Smoke from a crashed helicopter rose to temporarily block out the sun before it was shining back down on him once again.
His roommate had totally been right.
He'd definitely just ended the world.
Or, Mike Wheeler in the apocalypse, learning what grief is and learning to heal from it with the group of people he'd be willing to die for. And falling in love along the way.
