Summary
First Order has won, and the Resistance is no more.
All uprisings are being violently quelled, but as the sparks of revolution flare up and disturbing reports of odd activity in the Unknown Regions keep pouring, Emperor Kylo Ren becomes more restless as he feels control slowly slip away from his grasp. Upon anticipating his downfall, he strives to prevent the inevitable.
Meanwhile, Chancellor Armitage Hux, stripped away from the familiar environment of the First Order navy, is drowning - in envy, hatred and desperation. Arrogance and years of jockeying for power under Snoke's reign have cost him any reasonable future and rendered his career unsalvageable. Now, still feared but no longer respected and haunted by a prophecy he was not supposed to receive, he is stuck on Coruscant under Kylo Ren's watchful eye, scheming and contemplating a last-ditch effort to either win or go out on his terms.
And just like that, a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, the cycle of violence dragged on, for the promise of revenge is always sweet.
