Summary
Kim Dokja wakes up at 8:00 am every day with a boy in the corner of his room. The boy stares at him, black pits for eyes, and tells him the same thing every morning:
“You look like shit.”
Then, the boy disappears from Kim Dokja’s view for the next hour, leaving him with his messy apartment, shitty blinds, and unwashed dishes.
Kim Dokja's hallucinations come true.

Summary
Tsukishima stares at the page of his new manual, which surprisingly has a section for granting happiness.
1. Identify desired material possessions, and gratify accordingly.
He’s not paid enough for this. As he sits in his uncomfortable chair, already envisioning the hours of surveillance footage he'll have to analyze, he feels like giving up.
“Material possessions,” he mutters, playing with his pen. The disdain in his voice practically drips onto the floor. Despite it being noon, his monitor’s light is already getting to him.
From the Welcome to Night Vale prompt: "When you wish upon a star, it is actually a satellite, and your wish has been recorded and cataloged. An agent is now assigned to your case."
Yamaguchi Tadashi is a worn out engineer who wishes for happiness. Tsukishima Kei is the agent assigned to his case, and to his frustration, finds out that happiness is quite a difficult thing to grant.

Summary
Nobara stares miserably at the water droplets that bounce off of the pavement. “Guess I’ll have to walk back,” she says defeatedly. Her back slumps as she glances over her shoulder. The weather has gotten worse, and the campus shrubbery is bending with the force of the rain.
“Wait.” Maki lets the door shut behind her. She unzips her jacket, and the ziiiip cuts straight through sound of thundering rain.
Nobara doesn't have an umbrella, so Maki lends her a jacket.

Summary
“It worked.”
Yamaguchi blinks, only to see fog surrounding him. “What?” he asks, rather dumbly, but can you blame him? He waves his arms in an effort to see more clearly. “What just -”
“You’re here.” There’s a blonde guy with glasses in front of him, and from the way he’s sitting, he’s probably lanky as hell. “I summoned you.” He pushes his glasses up. “You’re the demon I was given.”
“Demon?” Yamaguchi asks. From the way Blonde Guy’s face twists up(rather strongly, might he add), he’s said the wrong thing. “What do you mean, demon?”
Yamaguchi was yanked from his world and thrown into Tsukishima's. The problem is that he's a demon, and Tsukishima happens to be his summoner.

Summary
The call is interrupted by shifting and clattering. “I’d pet a dog,” Tsukishima answers, his voice sounding far away. A knife hits the cutting board, slicing something with even, steady strokes. “But not for thirty minutes.”
Yamaguchi’s laugh rings through the empty bus. “Because you’d be there for an hour.”
“Hmph.” The sound of vegetables being sliced fills the air. After a while, Tsukishima adds: “Maybe we should get a dog.”
Yamaguchi buys Tsukishima a gift for Valentine's Day.

Summary
A sense of abandonment sparks up Yamaguchi’s fingers. He feeds on it hungrily, wiggling his digits, and takes in the image in front of him: Tsukishima fixing his car, his broad back flexing over the steaming mess of metal.
“We should go south next,” Yamaguchi says, quelling his hands. Cicadas buzz in the background. They almost soothe his nerves. Almost.
Tsukishima snorts. It’s not audible, but Yamaguchi can tell from the way his back jerks.
“South where?” Tsukishima asks.
Well. Yamaguchi crosses his arms. That’s the million dollar question, isn’t it?
Tsukishima and Yamaguchi go on a roadtrip.

Summary
Yamaguchi turns his head to look at Tsukishima, who is decked in every type of inclement weather outerwear. A hopeful glint appears in his eyes.
“Tsukki, could you-”
“No.” Tsukishima nestles deeper into his scarf. Yarn fibres tickle his nose, but he ignores them, winding the scarf tighter around his neck. “You can’t have my scarf.”
Tsukishima and Yamaguchi walk in the cold. Yamaguchi is poorly equipped; Tsukishima is not.

Summary
Yamaguchi isn’t sure how he got here. There was a sign, he was desperate from money, and the manager of the store was especially persuasive.
“I’ll give you a raise if you stick with it,” the manager said, giving him a blinding smile. “Suga” was printed on his metal name tag in all caps.
Yamaguchi didn’t trust the all caps. That doesn’t matter now, because he’s scored a job at a flower shop.
Yamaguchi works at a flower shop. Tsukishima is a customer who happens to need a lot of flowers.

Summary
“Tsukki,” Yamaguchi pleads, and the nickname mollifies Tsukishima considerably, “could you buy me Garigari-kun? Pretty please?”
There’s no need for Yamaguchi to plead. Tsukishima has counted his change twice already, and he has enough money to buy at least four Garigari-kun.
Three of which he plans to give to Yamaguchi, and one of which he’ll eat himself.
“Fine.” He rolls his eyes, hoping he looks as disgruntled as possible. It’s hard to do when Yamaguchi is making puppy eyes at him. “I’ll buy us Garigari-kun.”
Yamaguchi beams. Something jolts in Tsukishima’s chest, spreading to his collarbones and warming his cheeks.
“Thanks, Tsukki!” Yamaguchi chirps.
Tsukishima realizes something odd: whenever Yamaguchi smiles, he gets a pulling feeling in his gut.

Summary
Whipping his head in Tsukishima’s direction, Hinata points at a person eyeing the toothbrushes on sale.
“Look,” he not-whispers, flapping his hand around. The person doesn’t turn around.
“Why?” Tsukishima asks irritably. Hinata’s probably going insane, but that was a long time coming.
A candy bar skitters across the floor as Hinata leans into Tsukishima, surreptitiously lowering his voice. “Wait for it,” he murmurs.
The person turns his head towards them, revealing a myriad of freckles, broad shoulders, and a very cute face.
Oh. Tsukishima feels his breath catch in his chest.
Yamaguchi is a new transfer student who frequents Shimada Mart. Everyone who sees him there, including Tsukishima, falls in love with him.

Summary
“Why don't you paint from memory?” Yamaguchi asks, after a while of looking at Tsukishima’s palette.
Tsukishima flips out the paint brush from between his fingers. He presses it into the mess of blue and grey. “Because there’s nothing in my memory to paint,” he answers simply, poising his brush in front of the gessoed canvas.
Yamaguchi turns his body to face Tsukishima. “Nothing?”
“Nothing.”
Yamaguchi is a writer who needs a place to work. Tsukishima is an artist who begrudgingly offers him his room.

Summary
God, Tsukishima thinks, standing over the broken shards of a clay pot. I’m an idiot.
The pot has to be his neighbour's. No one else on this street owns the strange, odd little frog pots, each boasting the sprout of a plant. The pot Tsukishima broke seems to have the beginnings of a tomato in it.
He gathers his pride, and simultaneously gathers the clay pieces. The plant flops pathetically around in his hands. When he tries to fix its position, it simply noses into the corner of his elbow.
There’s dirt on his shirt when he rings his neighbour’s doorbell. He can’t bear to look at himself in the window’s reflection.
The door opens a crack, revealing a spotted nose. It widens until a full face peeks through, and then the outline of a tan, lanky man.
“Can I help you?”
In which Tsukishima moves into a new place, breaks an ugly pot, makes a friend, and falls in love.

Summary
The thing with Tsukishima is that he’s perceptive. Sometimes it’s impressive, sometimes it’s annoying, and other times, it makes you feel like you’re being examined under a magnifying glass.
From the way Tsukishima looks at Yamaguchi, this time it constitutes as the latter.
Tsukishima doesn't wear his headphones one day. Yamaguchi finds it difficult to talk around him.

Summary
There’s an incessant buzzing in the air. It surrounds Shouto by all sides, assaulting his ears.
Cicadas, he thinks, because he recalls it from somewhere. Perhaps he read it in a book, but as he wracks his brain for memories, he comes up with no pages.
“Hey,” someone says, insistent and watery sounding. They poke at his shoulder in an irregular pattern. “What are you doing here?”
Shouto opens his eyes to the sun. He’s in a field, oddly enough. He has no idea how he got here.
A sunny, freckled face pops into view. “You alright?” they ask. He asks, judging by his voice. “You’ve been lying down here for a while.”
Shouto takes a memory serum to erase his past. It fails when he realizes that he remembers his name.

Summary
Yamaguchi stares at the ground, and his mouth moves several times with the intention of talking. “To be honest,” he finally forces out, “the more I stay here, the more plasticky it becomes.”
Tsukishima spares Yamaguchi a glance. “Plasticky?” he repeats.
“Like,” Yamaguchi explains, hands already gesturing. Something in Tsukishima’s heart warms up. “Those bags you sell at the shop.”
Tsukishima blinks. “Those bags?” he clarifies, turning his head so Yamaguchi won’t see his expression.
“Flimsy. Easy to tear through.” The consonants roll off of Yamaguchi’s tongue in a beautiful mess. They crash into each other mid air, haphazardly making their way into Tsukishima’s brain. “Something you can see right through.”
San Jose, summer of ‘66: hot, unbearable, and full of young hopefuls.

Summary
“Ever thought of living on the moon?” Todd asks Neil one day, when he’s on Neil’s bed. His hands are behind his head, and he looks up at the ugly popcorn ceiling. A whole lotta bumps. Much like the surface of the moon.
Neil looks over from his history essay absentmindedly. It’s half a look, only the connecting of both of their eyes to acknowledge that he heard Todd. He rustles his pages, mumbling, “Nah, can’t be a doctor on there.”
-
Todd lives with abandon. Neil watches his ambition fade, and clings onto it despite the futility of it all.

Summary
Izuku’s just another embittered salaryman, slogging away at work until his eyes glaze over. He doesn’t particularly care about his well being, occasionally spends too much on possessions, and has a tendency to attract chaos and mayhem wherever he works.
Spending his life as a quirkless person is a disadvantage. But having a catastrophic quirk that gives him all the blame, and still presents him as quirkless? Infinitely worse.
The result of me imagining Izuku as One Punch Man, but pre-getting swole and powerful. Basically, very aimless and at a loss at what his drive in life is. Notable differences include Izuku being a ball of nerves and unresolved issues, and having a useless-but-still-catastrophic quirk.
