canon-divergence sparked by the thought of "what if rumi really *did* lose her markings?" and also contemplating how rumi has definitely contemplated her own death a lot more than that one scene, then choosing the most painful possible option for those questions.

Summary
Sai was understandably unsettled when the Uchiha came into the picture, slouching his way onto the training field like he hadn’t been willing to commit mass-slaughter a few months ago. Not that Sai was innately bothered by that fact, seeing as Naruto’s talk-no-jutsu failure rate was low, the Godaime took his trial and sentencing seriously, and none of them were clean of blood. He was more thrown by the way the Uchiha’s presence acted as a liquid accelerant to Naruto and Sakura’s already volatile personalities.

Reminiscing of their student years reveals an unexpected past development to Ino, one she teased about, hoped for, maybe even believed in but never would have thought truly possible. Let’s face it, it had relied heavily on two thirds, male ones, of Sakura’s trio, and those two couldn’t agree on anything without a fight, let alone share!
Really, she thought she knew everything about Sakura, heck, even Naruto, but it seems they can still keep a secret or two. And she doesn’t know why she’s surprised, when Uchiha Sasuke is the heart of it, as always.
Or: Sasuke is unusually touchy, and it gives the other two ideas. It escalates too naturally.

Rare, truth be told it's fairer to say I've never witnessed it with my own eyes, is the time when Calchexxis fails to deliver a fantastic work of art that grips you and refuses to let you go until you devour it in its entirety.
With a mastery of language, motion, and direction there is never a dull moment.
I can never recommend this story and it's author enough, there are not enough praises in the world I could sing to do them justice.

This is story is being edited and then exported from FF.net. The whole fic is posted there. I'm just only now, over a year since it was finished, migrating it to this world.

“The bad news?” she asks roughly. Cait watches her. “The bad news is it’s an illegal recreational heat drug that condenses the normal three-day cycle into 24 hours. If we were able to go to the hospital, the treatment would be to give her artificial alpha pheromones and a drug cocktail to restore her lymphatic system and balance her hormones.” Vi feels her stomach drop but makes herself ask anyway. “Since the hospital’s out of the question, how do I help her?” Cait lowers her eyes. “She’ll need to be saturated in your pheromones, and… and she’ll need to have quite a few orgasms.”
