Summary
Mikado is a simple city. A couple of schools, mostly residential houses and a handful of mom-and-pop type restaurants that flourish here with the community. The only thing not simple was the towering pitch-black building placed in the center of town. Emblemed on the outside was the word "Border" and the forbidden zone of abandoned houses and ruins that barred off the rest of the world.
In the outside world, her name is Nao, a eighteen-year-old trying to make a quiet living in Mikado city.
Though, in the inside world, she is what they call a neighbor.

Time stops for no one, it is ever moving and endless. Therefore, to make some sense of its twists and turns, we always start our stories at the beginning even though they may be the end.
Yuun, 18 years old, horribly sarcastic, tired eyes from too many night shifts cursed upon those who are too broke to afford cup ramen. Rents a cheap-below-regulation-coded room located beneath a 24/7 laundry mat service in hope of cutting costs for her soon to be college career.
She was bargaining for a new start, a new life; not for her own landlord’s key to open some type of absurd abnormality that makes her fall face first into an over budgeted Di(z)ney production set with floating coffins, green flames- is that a talking cat!
This wasn’t the start Yuun wanted, but it was a start- right?

There are two ways you can translate Sou Sou no Frieren (葬送のフリーレン). The more common translation you might know in media is, "Frieren beyond Journey's End"; but if you read the characters separately 葬 (funeral) 送 (to burry, to send, to live one’s life) you can read a translation that means, "Frieren beyond the Grave”.
