Summary
After her mother's murder, death is the only thing this village has to offer. To avoid a swift end at the stake, she flees to Castle Dimitrescu, hoping to find mercy and sanctuary. That that decision had been entirely misguided becomes clear quicker than she expects. To save herself from certain ruin, she has to get into the Lady's good graces. It does help that her powers have captured the Lady's interest... for now. Unfortunately, Lady Dimitrescu is not the only one whose attention she has won...

Taking this job had been stressful to say the least, but working for Blue Umbrella would do that to a person. Being a part of the elite soldiers meant you took the job no one else could finish. The Hounds were the best at what they did, tracking down the more biological creatures that threatened the everyday working man and eradicating them with terrifying efficiency. Carina was a seasoned veteran in this field, but this job in particular gave her a bad feeling deep within her gut.
