Post season 1 reunion fic with a focus on Stizzy/Gentlehands as a leadup to eventual Steddy Hands. Accuracy around history, piracy, and medicine are on the backburner. It's eventually very hopeful and loving, I think, but it takes a little while to get there. Check the notes at the beginning (and beginnings of each chapter) for more trigger/content warnings.

Summary
Canon Divergence -It was Jack that set up BB and Stede to the British. After banishment Izzy has been miserable and trying to drink the hurt away. He realized it isn't working and is ready to beg to rejoin the Revenge. He finds out about Jack's plan but is captured before he can warn them. Starts after Ed and Stede are taken away.
Anyone can see that there's something broken about Izzy, but since Ed was taken its different. There is a sense of loss about him that makes Lucius worry when he sees the man staring over the railing into the water below, like maybe he's considering it.
Awkwardly the crew talks about it behind Izzy's back. Fang says hes taken care of abused dogs before, aggressive and dangerous because they were so afraid but with just some patience and kindness they come around. Lucius thinks it could work with Izzy too, its at least worth a shot. Show him its ok to be soft.
No one thinks about what that will mean for him if Blackbeard returns. Especially not the version of BB that returns after being abandoned by Stede thats calls himself the Kraken. And who claims Izzy as his own, to do with as he pleases.
EdIzzy is abusive/unhealthy atm, soft stuff is Sprizzy

Summary
Izzy is an omega, but it's not a big deal. The only person that knows is Ed (the only person still living anyways), and it's not like he needs anything that an omega usually does. Like affection, like a soft touch. No, they are pirates and Izzy wouldn't want any of that even if Ed offered. Really, he's fine and not at all buckling under the pressure and loneliness.
And it probably would have stayed that way, but Stede arriving changed things. Stede means it when he says he wants everyone on the ship happy, and has kept an eye on Izzy since their duel, trying to figure out how to make him feel like he belongs. To get through his defenses. Finding out the man is an omega, well that explains a lot. And made it clear that there was still work for Ed on embracing his emotions, especially where one prickly first mate is concerned.
After their duel Stede allows Izzy to stay on the ship, and everyone settles into a mostly calm routine with Ed and Stede as their co captains. The only person that seems to still be struggling is Izzy, and Stede is determined to figure out why and fix it.
Please, oh please, I just need some tlc and genuine affection for Izzy.

"The idea is really very simple," Jim starts, "two people compete in order to win Izzy's affections. Whoever seduces Izzy the fastest wins."
Or: Stede and Edward lose a few games of rock, paper, scissors and ending up competing to see who can seduce Izzy quickest. Izzy, understandably, quickly becomes utterly baffled with everyone's behaviour.

Summary
Izzy Hands does not, regardless of widespread belief, hate Stede Bonnet. He never hated him, not even when Blackbeard began to follow him around like a lost puppy the moment Stede showed him the slightest of affection. Stede gave him soft things, fabrics and fancy clothes with his stupid secret passages and his non-judgemental form with little to no roughness. Of course, he could never hate Stede for attracting him when he was unaware of Blackbeard's attraction to the finer things in life despite his harsh, cruel nature that bares it's teeth and clashes against cage walls inside of him. Even when Stede left, he could not hate him; he returned Blackbeard to his First Mate, after all, and even when that was torn away from him again, he could not muster up an ounce of dislike for the Gentleman Pirate.
No, he did not hate Stede Bonnet. He did not, even, dislike Stede Bonnet. He envied him.
