Alex, the ex-boyfriend TK left in New York, is here in Texas and wants to talk to him about something important. TK has spent a year away from Alex and is just starting to find solid footing in the firehouse, his new family, and in his ever-growing relationship with Carlos Reyes. He's finally starting to find happiness again. When he sees his ex standing in the firehouse, TK has no idea what kind of outcome is going to come out of all of this.

This was a bad idea. Tommy knew it was a bad idea, but he couldn't find it in himself to care.
When he heard the sirens blasting across the server while he had been mining, he knew that something bad had happened.
When he found himself gathering his things a bit later, taking his never-worn-before netherite armor and putting it on, he knew that he was about to do something incredibly stupid.
When he walked down to the massive obsidian box and was searching for footsteps, he knew that he shouldn't do this.
When he found two pairs of footsteps and a trail of blood leading to the forest, he knew that he shouldn't follow it.
But when he heard two people arguing in the middle of the forest, one voice all too familiar and one completely unknown, he knew that he needed to. Because something was incredibly wrong. And history may not be as it seems.

Summary
Tommy stays where he is at the door of the kitchen, his fingers playing with the hems of the hoodie that, even as a tall teenager, is still a little big on him.
"Hey Dad?" Tommy whispers, earning a hum in response as his father pours pancake mix in a bowl and fills it with water before mixing.
"Can I visit the prison?" His father's motion freezes and Tommy sees his eyes widen.
But it soon collapses into an expression he soon turns to Tommy to see. And that expression tells Tommy he knew… he knew this question was going to be asked, that Tommy's silence wasn't going to last forever, that Tommy would light a fire and let it burn.
And let it burn he will, because he has questions and only one person can give him those answers.

Summary
It was crazy how quickly being alone with Dream made the masked man an open book. He could hide behind his mask all he wanted, Tommy knew without a doubt how the older man felt at any given moment, wearing his heart on his sleeve despite his best efforts to stuff it behind his amor and hide it away.
And it made Tommy realize that Dream was nothing but a fucking liar.
Because as much as Dream spewed on and on about how he doesn’t care about anyone or anything, how he had no weaknesses to take advantage of because he wasn’t emotionally attached anymore, his actions screamed the exact opposite. He was just as sentimental and vulnerable as he was the day Tommy met him. Only this time around Tommy wasn’t sniffing out weakness to drag Dream down- no, he was going to bring himself up. Because he knew what being friends, real friends, with Dream meant for him.
