Summary
A soft, mollified sound slipped out of Soap’s mouth when Ghost gripped his jaw firmly with one hand. With his newfound hold, Ghost guided Soap’s head to the side and gritted out, “Look in the mirror,” between clenched teeth.
Happy to please him and already feeling the fog of submission settling in his bones, Soap twisted his neck further and dragged his eyes to the mirror where—
Oh.
Oh.
That wasn’t his shirt. That was not his fucking shirt, because he didn’t own any shirts that had bold, white, capital letters spelling out “LT. RILEY” across the span of his shoulders.

Summary
This is what his life has come to. He’s being disrespected by a dumpster rat.
He wishes he had someone to blame his current situation on, someone to direct his anger at, but in all honesty, the shitshow that landed him here was nothing more than an unfortunate series of entirely incidental accidents.
He knocks his head back into the wall behind him and huffs. Next to him, the rat chitters (sounding sympathetic, though Soap is beginning to think he might be projecting… or just losing it).
Or: Soap loses comms on a mission and is presumed dead. Having been left behind, he has no choice but to make his own way back to base. He doesn't expect to have been missed quite so much.

Summary
It's a slow evening at the base and Soap has a plan to relax, work on a diary entry and draw a quick room study. However, the moment he finds Ghost sitting comfortably in an old armchair, reading glasses riding low on the bridge of his nose and a new skull mask in his hands, he cannot resist changing the subject of his art piece.
He can only hope Ghost doesn't notice.~~~
He had stared at Ghost very intensely before and now he was staring with the same intensity at what came from under his hands, considering whether it wasn’t too revealing to just let it exist. His hand twitched a little as he contemplated simply ripping the page out and pretending this moment of weakness had never happened.
“It’s very good, Johnny,” said Ghost right above him, his voice deep but with an uncharacteristic edge of softness.

Summary
Johnny MacTavish has been running his own flower shop for years, leading a fairly uneventful life until a tall man in a mask with the kindest eyes he has ever seen appears at his counter with a request for a single peach-coloured rose.
From that day on he returns like a clockwork, twice a week at noon, always asking just for the one specific flower and it doesn't take long before Johnny starts picking out the most beautiful peach rose to put aside for the handsome stranger every Tuesday and Friday morning.
~~~Kyle made faces at him behind Simon’s back every time he came around and Johnny failed to form coherent sentences, to pop the question before he walked off with his peach rose in hand once again. It was humiliating, really, and made him bang his head on the counter in frustration several times. There was just something about the man’s eyes that rendered him speechless and giddy every time.
Besides, he still didn’t know who all the roses were for.
