“That sounds pretty good,” Yang said, turning the thought over in her mind. “Do I have to pledge myself to Pre-Law to show up or something? I will for food if you’re wondering.”
Blake dropped her gaze and dragged her fork through her ravioli. “Uh, you can just come as my plus one, if you want. I wasn’t going to go in the first place, but you need to eat so I’ll suck it up.”

You could get mad about it for a bit, but it was ultimately fair game. Alicent had already reached all these conclusions because Viserys had spoken to her weeks ago about programming the Concerto, which only had the unwanted effect of giving her time to turn it over in her brain like a particularly nauseating Rubix cube. Each solution of the puzzle led her to the same conclusion: she would be seeing Rhaenyra imminently, and there wasn’t a damn thing she could do about it.
After ten years apart, Rhaenyra Targaryen re-enters Alicent's life for a set of solo engagements with her orchestra. Things go about as well as expected (not very).

A voice tells Peter, “You’ve been sitting there doing nothing for half an hour. At least write something on that page, it’s killing me.” It sounds so much like his subconscious reaching out to the front of his mind that he nods in agreement, and then realizes that it was an actual voice. His head shoots up and he turns to the left, where the voice came from. A girl is looking at him expectantly over the top of a book, with a raised eyebrow.
Um. She’s… pretty. Her hair is frizzy, tied back in a top bun, with some strands covering her left eye. She wears a dark blue sweater, the sleeves of which are a bit long, covering her hands. Peter thinks of the phrase sweater mittens, and then he realizes he's staring at her like a dope and she said something and he needs to answer or else he’s gonna look like a complete idiot --
