Blitz resisted the urge to reach into his jacket pocket for the little box he could feel shifting as they walked. He’d been carrying the thing around with him for almost two weeks now, waiting for the right moment. Then, tonight, Stolas had cooked them his perfected lasagna recipe and Blitz had suggested a walk out to the owl's favorite tree.

"How bad is it?" Blitz asked simply. Maybe he could snag a pair of sunglasses to hide behind or something.
Stolas gaped, mouth open as Blitz stood before him, a few inches taller and looking very much like a human. A handsome one. Sharp features and bright, crimson eyes. Spiky dark hair with a striking white streak in it, reminiscent of the striping on his horns. Stolas shook his head, reminding himself that Blitz had asked him a question.
"You look...wonderful, Blitz. Truly," he murmured.
OR
Blitz and Stolas go on a long overdue date in the mortal realm.

Blitz cradled Stolas' cheek with one hand, the other reaching down to pull a small packet from the front pocket of his jeans. There were two yellow capsules inside, but Blitz wasn't going to try and push his luck beyond trying just one. The samples only came in a two-pack set, and Fizz had known Blitz would lose a single pill within five steps. "I did my research," he defended, watching Stolas read the wording on the package with slowly widening eyes. "I wanted to play with that pollen some more."

Summary
Standing before them in the radiance of the setting sun was an owl unlike Blitz had ever seen before. Tall, with grey feathers and bright red eyes, he wore a ruffled white shift with poofy, rich bitch sleeves. Around his thin waist was a satchel that sat against his left thigh and a rolled leather container on the other that Blitz guessed either held a telescope or, more hopefully, a treasure map.
The very thought of a treasure map made his tail twitch.
“What do ya want?” Blitz asked.
The owl’s voice was soft but determined. “I’m looking to hire a ship.”
