Summary
Athena knew deep down that she'd be alright.
She knew that eventually, the pain would fade. Like a battle wound, it would be nothing but a dull buzz, before healing completely. Would she potentially be left with scars? Being a god, she wasn't completely sure. Maybe in the next millennia they'll fully blend in with her skin. Maybe the murky yellow in her left eye would change back to blue, or perhaps her hair would grow again.
No matter what happened, she'd eventually be fine.
But for now, this was her worst nightmare.

Athena struggles alone with a fever in Apollo's infirmary after he's summoned away by Zeus, because of course Zeus needed him when Athena is basically dying at this point.

Athena shivered at the chilling winds, her vision blurring for a moment, as she leaned her weight onto a column. She ignored the taste of ichor flooding her mouth, doing her best to swallow it down. She should be resting, and she knew Apollo would be furious when he realized his injured half-sister had snuck out of his domain.
But resting wasn't important. She needed to get to Odysseus, no matter how much pain she was in.
