Summary

Wenn du in einer Zeit lebst, die deine Liebe verurteilt, musst du als Biograf Umsicht walten lassen, um dich und deinen Liebsten nicht vor Gesetz und Gesellschaft an den Galgen zu bringen. Und John Watson war vorsichtig, verstand es meisterhaft zu verschleiern und die Art ihrer Verbindung allenfalls anzudeuten. Doch nun ist er alt und unheilbar krank. Der Tod steht schon vor der Tür und John Watson hat nur noch einen letzten Wunsch: Das Bild graderücken, das er von sich und Sherlock Holmes gezeichnet hat. Summary
"We must not reveal ourselves," thought John Watson every time he took up pen and typewriter to write down his adventures with Sherlock Holmes. If you are a biographer living in a time that condemns your love, you must exercise prudence lest you and your beloved be brought to the gallows before law and society. And John Watson was prudent, masterfully able to disguise and at the very most hint at the nature of their union. But now he is old and terminally ill. Death is already at the door, and John Watson has only one last wish: to correct the image he has drawn of himself and Sherlock Holmes. On his deathbed and carried on by his companion according to his last will, both parts of the famous detective couple begin to rework their history.
