She has cornered him in one of the timelines that the Remembrancers have a base in, no less! It is only a matter of time before she catches him, but this timeline threatens to dredge up everything in her past that she has been keen on suppressing... And that's because she has to team up with Piltover's 'finest' cyborg beat cop who is an alternate version of her childhood love.

Caitlyn is completely lost in her grief. Jinx realizes she'll need actual friends now that Silco's gone. Vi struggles to decide whose side she's on. And Ekko teams up with the remnants of a scientist that Zaun had almost forgotten.

This fic was originally drafted as a 35k-word treatment on season 2 of Arcane. It has since been converted to standard prose, with each of 9 "TV episodes" being split into three chapters apiece. While this story shares some of the same bones as the official season 2, several major changes have been made in order to streamline and concretize its themes. Mel remains a politician in Piltover; Vi gets a lot more autonomy; the Firelights matter again; Isha doesn't exist 💔; the Multiverse is not a thing, but the Void is; the chem-barons don't get lost infighting; and Jinx fully commits to the war-path she thinks Silco wanted.- Language:

Looking at her wide-eyed through a hole in the wall where the door used to be, was a Zaunite. She had pink hair and lemur eyes.
She smelled of danger and sewers and crackling mortar. She looked how she smelled, too.
"Oh shit," Caitlyn heard her say.
She was a thief.
Caitlyn's eyes were wide. Her breathing was frantic. She could feel herself losing blood as it poured down her face. She had never bled this much.
The Zaunite held her hand out.
Caitlyn took it.

Summary
After mentioning that she wants to be an Enforcer over dinner, Caitlyn is transferred from the Junior Academy to Zaun's only school to discourage her from choosing that path. During her first day, a girl named Vi begrudgingly helps Caitlyn and allows her to sit with her and her siblings, and Caitlyn develops an interest in being their friend (and... maybe (definitely) also develops a tiny (massive) crush on Vi). Despite their reservations, they accept her into their little group, and she fights to be a full part of the crew, through both high school and heists.
(Basically, Vi, Mylo, Claggor, Powder, and Caitlyn at the age they were in S1: Act 1 in high school in Zaun, featuring Caitlyn and Vi having an adorable teenage romance, Vander's kids trying to make Caitlyn into an anti-establishment delinquent (it mostly works), Vander ending up with another kid constantly hanging out in his basement, and the six of them (including Ekko) being chaotic teenagers/kids trying to find their way among a steampunk borderline-dystopia, high school, and their constant shenanigans that happen as a result of them all being chaotic little gremlins plus terminal illness and class war.)

Summary

Zaun is pushed to the undercity with limited resources while Pack Piltover flourishes in the upper city, a scion of innovation and progress. Vander believes peace between the two packs is possible, while his mate, Silco, has other ideas to turn the tables on the political landscape of their city.
One evening, Silco makes a play that can't be undone, irrevocably shifting the power dynamics between the two packs. Her next question had been on her mind for a few months now and over the last two weeks it was constantly rolling over in her head.
“You may,” came Caitlyn’s voice, a hint of curiosity.
“What’s it like to fly?” This made the hovering woman smile. One that slightly showed off a gap in her front teeth. Damn… what does the rest of her look like?
“Shouldn’t you know? Ms. Jumper,” her voice had that teasing tone in it again. Vi let out a loud laugh while crossing her ankles.
“Please never call me that again and I don’t fly. I fall, with style,” she said with her own full smile. Caitlyn chuckled but tilted her head in thought, seemingly looking for the proper words to describe it.
“Honestly… it feels like pure freedom,” she finally landed on.
“It really looks like it,” Vi said softly.Or:

"Oh, that I am confident in." Caitlyn spoke and once more Vi found herself fighting against being enchanted. "I can't say I've been one to frequent the fights that many of our colleagues adore but after hearing the tales of the Hound, I admit I found myself curious." She spoke with a knowing smile on her face, the intrigue she spoke with was now gone, having seemingly made up her own mind. She stepped closer to Vi until she was within arms reach and it took everything within Vi to keep herself as still as she physically could. Though she was unsure if she wanted to run away or step closer. So much so that she didn't even notice the impossibly smooth hand coming up to her face.
"And what a fine dog she is." Caitlyn whispered, brushing her thumb against Vi's bottom lip, tracing the cut that had just barely closed and applying enough pressure for it to open again. Vi inhaled sharply, wincing ever so slightly at the sting.
