“Okay,” Hollander says, voice cracking.
He doesn’t say anything else. The air’s so heavy around them that it feels like being in the middle of a scrum, the weight and heat of all those bodies pressing down on you. Danger always feels like hockey; it’s the most dangerous thing Ilya knows, except for this. Everything dangerous in his life involves men’s bodies and just how close he can get to them. Closer than he probably should.
A year after mysteriously dropping out of the 2009 draft, Shane Hollander is signed by the Boston Raiders, right behind Ilya Rozanov. Having the two biggest stars in the league on the same line is great for Boston — but playing alongside their worst rival was never exactly in Shane or Ilya's plans. Hayden’s eyes flickered to Shane as he sat on the bench, chewing on the edge of his mouth guard.
“Don’t fucking look at him,” Ilya insisted as he bent down for the faceoff.
“Excuse me?” Hayden mumbled, eyes darting back to him.
“You heard me,” he retorted, his tone clipped. “He’s not your teammate anymore; he’s mine. If you think Marlow is a problem to your game, wait until you see what I will do to your team if you hurt anyone on mine again.”
Hayden scoffed, dipping his head as he tried to focus on the game. Something about Ilya’s words still rang through his head though, sounding so definitive that he didn’t want to risk seeing what he was actually referring to when he said that.
The puck dropped again, and Ilya stole it before he could comprehend how quickly it happened.

God, is this fucker deaf or something? “I like you,” he grits out, annoyed that he has to drag this out any further. How many times does he need to say it? Once should be enough, dammit.
“You like me,” Shinsou says slowly, letting the words sink in. His eyes trail over Bakugou's figure.
In one sudden motion, he shifts away from the doorframe. There’s not much space separating them now, but like hell is Bakugou going to back off to give him more room.
“Prove it,” Shinsou says.

"That's pretty fucking gay, dude. Drunk actions are sober thoughts or whatever. You've had feelings for him for what, how long? Since UA?"
Katsuki doesn't correct him. He doesn't say that he doesn't know when the bitterness softened into tenderness, or that maybe he's had this gentle, furious ache for Izuku since the very beginning, since they were kids in a forest with scrapes on their knees and elbows and the world in their hands.
He doesn't know how to explain it, so Katsuki just says, "I don't have feelings for him."

What started out as Jay jokingly sexting Tim in a bid to make him laugh (and, in his words, 'get that enormous stick out of his little ass') slowly turns into Tim not only no longer being angry with Jay, but, as they continue to jokingly sext each other whenever the instance arises, slowly starting to consider that a friendship may be blooming between them.
