He does what he can in his age: plant the seeds, till the grass, fill the water bucket, wait for rain, feed the chickens, feed the cows, feed the sheep, feed the pigs, keep the gate locked, clean the pens, till the grass, plant the seeds, keep the gate locked.
There’s always so much to do—so much that has to be done to keep the town in business, keep the mayor happy, and keep himself alive.
He just needs a break.
