Mike isn’t certain yet, but he does not enjoy the tone Lucas’ voice is dangerously pitching.
“Hey, it’s fine. You don’t have to be embarrassed. We got you.”
“Embarrassed about what?”
And oh, the confusion imprinted in Will’s face is so unmistakably his and so comically apparent that it would have drawn Mike a tiny smile if he wasn’t also distracted by the comment.
"Dude, I’m talking about your newfound flirting abilities! Who would have thought that California would bring us back a casanova.”
Oh.
Strangely enough, a suspicion Mike didn’t know he had is confirmed. And it sends an unpleasant wave all over his body.
He definitely doesn't like where this is going.

The first time he noticed Mike and El holding hands, there was a strain, a little tug in the pit of his belly that ached so much he actually touched it: like that would help anything. The first time he saw them kiss, the pain in his stomach moved to his chest and he had to excuse himself just so he could get some fresh air and calm down.
He’d pressed a hand to his chest and tried to justify the pain as heartburn or some other physical ailment. The thought that his chest hurt so bad he could have cried was too uncomfortable to even consider that it might have been brought on by emotions alone. Nothing going on in his head could possibly hurt so bad that it would have a physical reaction, right?

Will takes a shallow breath, tries to swallow his nerves. He speaks flatly. “And?”
Henry blinks, seemingly surprised by Will’s coldness. “I chose you that day, you know.”
And Will sees himself, small and alone, riding his bike through the darkness. He sees the silhouette of something tall and not-human. He sees himself crashing his bike. Running home. But the creature unlocks the door. It follows him into the shed. It gets him.
“It was you,” Will whispers, a hand coming up to the back of his neck. The monster that took him. The possession. The visions. “It’s always been you.”
(or the one where will’s connection to the upside down is a crucial part of season 4 instead of him getting sidelined, and how it changes everything)
