Mirabel's emotions bubbled, shaking as she looked down, defeated as tears threatened to spill. "I love them, I love them so badly. I've tried pulling my own weight. But it's never enough," Mirabel sobbed. Sebastían brought her into a hug. Warmth engulfed Mirabel, a warmth she wasn't familiar with. Besides Lucía or Antonio, Mirabel couldn't recall the last time someone initiated a hug for her. It made her cry harder. She wasn't sure how long she cried, but she was thankful no one walked in. Dolores was probably suffering through the overstimulation for her brother. Finally, once she had no more tears, she felt a bit numb.
"I wish I could leave. I don't think I can handle this anymore," she choked out, her voice coarse. Sebastían looked into her eyes, as if he tried staring into her soul. He measured his next words carefully, "..Who says you can't?"
