Summary
“Who are you?” Grian demands, his rusted knife pressed against the stranger’s chest. He throws his hands up, nervously laughing.
“Scar! My name’s Scar, please don’t kill me.” He stammers out. Grian glares at him, bracing his stance.
“What are you doing in my shelter, Scar?” He snaps his name out, trying to sound as hostile as possible. Scar pushes the tip of his weapon aside with one finger, still awkwardly smiling.
“Well, it's not pleasant outside and I saw this shack and thought ‘hey, I probably won’t die in there,’ so I came to investigate.”
Or; Given his history, Grian’s always thought it’s best to survive the apocalypses alone. Unfortunately for him, a stranger seeking shelter from the rain has different ideas.

In the silence, the crack of fireworks, though they had to be a mile off at least, felt like lightning down his spine. If he kept staring at the wall, he could perhaps convince himself he was okay.
“Do you think we’ll survive?” Came another one of Scar’s inquiries. Grian felt his heart struggle to decide whether he felt comforted or threatened by the presence.
He chewed on his lip for a moment. “Tonight?” He needed another moment to think. Or perhaps not, for he knew he wouldn’t pick himself back up if he took that jump. So he lied. “Yeah, I think we will.”

tldr; Grian survives the Warden in the Deep Dark, and makes it back to Scar before someone else finds him. Now they coop up and hope to survive the night.

Summary
Every year, without fail, the kingdom of Hermitopia would celebrate the god of chaos with a festival, while most feared the god the citizens of Hermitiopia would thank the god, Xelqua, for defending the kingdom a thousand years ago in the ancient wars, and this time, it was Scar’s turn to kick off the festival.
Scar was young, well young in the terms of immortals, he was only forty years old, and had been technically dead for twenty of those years, due to being a vampire and all. He was the youngest prince of Hermitopia, and still technically a fledgling all things considered. Vampires spent their first half a century as fledglings before maturing into full grown vampires. As a result fledglings never left the den, but Scar was an exception, being the youngest prince meant he had to usher in the festival of the chaos god, and watcher, Xelqua, as tradition stated.

Or: Grian is a god, and Scar is the youngest in a line of vampire princes, they obviously become the best of friends

A slip up causes Grian to get himself caught and taken to a secret market, but maybe he’s in luck when he meets a certain eye-catching siren.
They’ll have to make it out together, Grian promised after all.

Summary
Nobody ever asked what happened when they died. It seemed so obvious. If you died, you respawned. It was as natural as breathing.
Grian was just like that once. He died, he respawned, and he thought nothing of it. Life was infinite.
Until one day, it wasn't. He saw how infinite lives could dwindled down to one, and then zero. He saw how time could warp into something entirely unrecognisable in a matter of days. He was forced to rethink everything he thought he knew about the world as he felt the final death coming closer by the second.
With the help of his magic, Grian survived. Barely. Did that make him lucky? Unlucky? He didn't know.
Three years later, Grian was recovering. He had a new life, a new home, new friends. He was finally happy.
And then it all started all over again.
And this time, he didn't have an escape.
Nothing ever lasts forever.

Mumbo didn’t answer, just continued pounding on the door. He had to get out. He had to get out. He had to get out, he needed to help.
“Why are you so upset?” Impulse asked. “It’s just a watcher.”
Mumbo stopped for a moment, slowly turning around to face Impulse.
“His name is Grian.” He snarled. “His name is Grian, and he’s not just a watcher. He’s my friend. And I’m not going to let you hurt him.”

“You’re up,” a voice said next to him, seemingly surprised.
He looked next to him to find a young looking boy standing there. He was rather small, a little over four and a half feet tall by the looks of it. He seemed to be unhealthily skinny, dark bags under his eyes. He had freckles sprinkled across his nose and face, and Xisuma could’ve sworn they were shaped like the sun and clouds. He had fluffy blonde hair and bright blue eyes, and he was staring wide-eyed at Xisuma.
“I- where am I? Who are you? Did you kidnap me?” Xisuma asked, panicked.
“You’re in the watchers domain. I didn’t kidnap you, but I’m assuming they did since you’re so surprised,” the boy shrugged.
“Whose they? Why are you here, too?” Xisuma asked in confusion. This boy looked to be thirteen or fourteen, why was he so calm about this?
“I already said who they are. We’re literally in their domain. The watchers,” the boy huffed, rolling his eyes, “I’m assuming you’re an experiment, like me.”

Grian, who wanted nothing more than to forget his Watcher past, was quite happy not to be worshipped at all. So when the Hermits collectively started praying to Xelqua and Grian started to gain a lot of Watcher magic, it put a real damper on his mood, health, self-perception and his relationships. With Mumbo gone off-world, it was now up to Scar, Pearl and Xisuma to worry about him – if Grian would let them. But Grian was nothing if not stubborn. He’d get through this alone, right?

Summary
It was time for the hermits to move to season eight. The new update was out and there were new things to explore, plus they needed a fresh start anyway. Xisuma had a seed prepared, general maps were shown and people had ideas of where they would build and where certain districts would be. But it all went out the window when they actually arrived in the world.
Most of the hermits are completely alone, stranded somewhere in the world in dangerous conditions. Some people are even in other dimensions. While people are respawing, they're not regenerating health and many people are stuck in death loops, not able to escape their spawn before dying and starting over.

Jimmy squirms out of Tango’s embrace and stares, confused, at the icy blue haired man. “First of all, it’s ‘The Sheriff’.” Jimmy gestures to the gold star on his vest that does in fact read, ‘Sheriff’. “Second, do I know you?”
Tango’s heart drops. Jimmy doesn’t remember him. “It’s Tango,” he replies, hoping that’ll ring some kind of bell. Surely Jimmy hasn’t forgotten that they were soulmates just a few months ago, right?
