Summary
Recently ahiddenkitty reblogged a photo of Bilbo on tumblr, and added some very interesting tags, here (http://ahiddenkitty.tumblr.com/post/158944395773 ). I was immediately inspired, and thought this would make a nice fanfic both as my birthday present to the fandom, and as a belated fic for 'An Unexpected Anniversary' which was on the 26th April.

Bilbo does his best to carve out a little hobbit life for himself in the mountain. If only there were not one final obstacle. For a hobbit heart wants love, and among dwarves that is a sticky subject.

Summary
While the Enterprise is being rebuilt, Len decides to take advantage of leave and ask if he can take Joanna for the summer. In light of his service to Starfleet, the judge decides to send someone out to inspect his living situation. Len, Jim and Spock know the social worker's coming, just not when. It has to be a surprise to encourage natural behavior.
Len shouldn't have worried.

Thorin isn't sure exactly when that point is, but he knows that it's probably some time before the person in question saves your life. On the far side of the Misty Mountains, Thorin realizes that he never quite caught the first part of Mr. Baggins' name, and he finds that it's astonishingly harder to learn than he would have thought. Fili, Kili, and Dwalin are no help whatsoever.

After a terrorist attack during a diplomatic away mission, Jim wakes up in sickbay. He survived the attack with nothing but a few broken ribs and a concussion, it seems, until Bones discovers that Jim has no memory of his relationship with his closest friends — or Spock. Everything else is there, his skills as a captain and his knowledge of starfleet and the enterprise for the most part intact, but he has little recollection of the friendships he's formed with his crew.
