Summary
The second time that Jamie shows up, smirking and announcing that he can't participate in training because he's hurt is so much worse than the first time. He's changed a lot, grown up a lot, and no one knows why he's acting like this again when he's put so much time and effort into not being that person anymore. It feels like history is repeating itself, except... something isn't adding up.
Sam is the one who puts it together, who sees the proof that Jamie very much is hurt, and has led everyone to believe that he isn't by telling them that he is in a way that sounded like an obvious lie. It makes his head spin, and he doesn't know what to do. Thankfully, his team captain and his coaches are there to figure it out.
(Hypothetical season 3 timeline. Completely gen. Jamie is hurt in an accident. He doesn't handle it well.)

Summary
Morality is an extremely ambiguous concept. Even on a tiny planet like Earth, a simple particle of dust floating in the vast galaxy, no one is really capable of successfully separating good deeds from evil ones; and centuries of war, genocide, famine and oppression could very well prove it. In the galaxy, upon the hundreds of thousands of worlds scattered in the stars, it’s even more complex. What is good and kind is often circumstantial , affected by so many factors that no living being had ever been able to categorize. Likewise, what is evil is, by its own nature, defined by the lense of who’s judging. It’s such an ingrained personal process that two identical people, raised in the same environment with the same values; can still disagree. Every alien culture, of course, has its own take on morality, and it can’t be judged by human standards. Morality is not a tangible measure as much as a concept proving the emotional and rational evolution of a species.
Still, Terry knows what he’s doing is simply wrong.

The Fairy sends Gerard to a nice story.
The first thing he notices, before he even opens his eyes, is that his skin feels dryer. He brings his hand, soft and human to touch his arm and nearly cries in relief. It worked. He can feel the shard of glass carved in his chest, but his chest is the right size, the right skin and being brave has paid off. He died for those kids and he’s human again. He is loved by Elody again.
It isn’t Elody.

Where the Cinderella speech about how the love interest can change if the main character stay the same got to me. What if the fairy had sent Gerard to a version of the story where he never met Elody?
