Summary
This is the story of one particularly grouchy son of Feanor, who has decided to leave his seaside moping and throw in his lot with the Rangers of the North. It features one murder son and his various issues, one very chill ranger, one elf who is doing his best to deal with his abandonment issues, lots of long conversations by firelight, bad decision making and even worse fashion choices. It's an unconventional ship, but that's what they said about the Titanic (probably) and that turned out fine!

Mace has known Obi-Wan his entire life (creche duty was a popular punishment for one Padawan Windu). He’s seen Obi-Wan develop some of the most intricate shields he’s ever seen or touched on a Jedi. The man experiences flashes of intense emotion, processes them, then releases them to the Force like it’s nothing (rather than a skill of near-fanatical study and practice). His shields are like durasteel, impenetrable to all those who seek his knowledge through violence. There are, however, kind pathways for those he’s chosen to let in.
The shields covering Obi-Wan now are decidedly not his normal shields.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is a professional musician, not a detective. So when the orchestra conductor is arrested in the middle of a concert, he wants nothing more than to stay out of it. Especially once Anakin Skywalker starts snooping around, convinced Obi-Wan is involved—he always knew trumpet players were up to no good.
Somehow, Obi-Wan finds himself in the midst of it all: a maybe-friendship with Anakin. A maybe-romance with Cody. And the possibility that perhaps life can be more than just getting by.
But life is also unpredictable. And so Obi-Wan, Anakin—and their secrets—might be more connected than they realize.
And the only ones who can really keep their secrets—are the dead.

“Do you like it, general?” Hardcase asked eagerly from where he was sprawled over a metal crate in their designated hanger. Anakin stared at the new artwork adorning his battalion’s starfighters and gunships.
It was…an extremely provocative cartoon of Senator Obi-Wan Kenobi clad in skimpy gold lingerie, cradling a vaguely phallic-looking blaster cannon.
“Hey, you said we should come up with a design for the 501st. Remember? To boost morale and whatnot,” Tup reminded, scratching the side of his face.
“I meant something like the Wolfpack's nose art! You know, my head and Ahsoka’s next to some of yours,” Anakin hissed, blood pressure mounting at his men’s casual indifference.
“But that’s so boring,” Hardcase whined, flopping onto his side and upending some half-used paint cans onto the ground.

“How am I force-sensitive, how do I control it, and what is going on with my bond with Vos?” Fox asks, a little bit of his desperation bleeding into his voice as he white-knuckles his grip on his helmet. Kenobi strokes his beard, Ti and Koon seem to share a glance, and Yoda settles in his chair.
“Works in mysterious ways, the Force does. Through all of us does it flow, so likely it is that you have always been force-sensitive. Perhaps share the same connection, some of your siblings do. A… difficult question, control is. Work their entire life a Jedi does, to keep control. Ask for help from Vos perhaps, when undercover.” Yoda suggests, and Fox has to resist the urge to stamp in frustration. He just wants things to go back to how they used to be!
“Rare indeed, is the bond you share with Vos. A dyad in the Force, you two are,” Yoda states, and after a moment of complete silence, all of the Jedi erupt at once.
Or: Fox is force-sensitive, Palpatine is the Sith Lord, and Quinlan Vos is too damn charming for his own good.

Summary
Set some time during the clone wars campaigns.
AU where Naboo Senator Obi-Wan adopts the Coruscant Guard. Commander Fox deserves a vacation for all the fires he has to put out left and right. Various unprofessional/feral Jedi give Mace Windu multiple ulcers. And they all incidentally end up throwing a giant wrench into Palpatine’s nefarious plans.
Mostly Crack. To Infinity and Beyond is the only fic with a sprinkling of plot.
