One moment, the young basketball players of Seirin are chatting happily amongst themselves as their bus takes them to their game destination, the next moment, the bus crashes and everything goes black. When everyone wakes up, confused and distraught, they find themselves five years in the future and in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. They’re even more surprised to find that many of the basketball teams they’ve competed against or have met are all residing at Rakuzan in Kyoto. Now, they’re all tasked with adapting the abrupt shift in their life while also trying to survive a zombie apocalypse.

Yeah, it hurts, but it's good. Carmy's learning. He's getting sharper every day, he can feel it. For as many of Chef's insults as Carmy knows aren't true (he shouldn't be dead, not yet -- and he isn't too fat or too short or too dumb or too poor to get the job done), there are a thousand more that are absolutely true. He really doesn't deserve to be here. He really is a piece of shit, and no one would deny it, not even back home. He needs rough treatment to stay on track, and he doesn't need anyone lying to him to make him feel better. You don't become the best by being pampered.
He just wishes he could become the best without also becoming so terrified at the thought of going to work that he barfs up his Cheerios.

He wanted to open a restaurant with Michael, so he sketched blueprints, made menus, and tried (and failed) to calculate the expenses (and he would have opened it too, if Michael had done it with him). “It’s not even Bucky's fault, really, that your parents are dead. He doesn't even remember doing it."
A voice, in the back of his mind, whispers. "It's not Strange's fault that you're alone now."
Peter continued, voice rising. "But you’re angry, at yourself, right? For letting it all happen. And now they’re gone, and you’ll never see them again, and what are you supposed to do, kill yourself over it?"
What are you supposed to do, when you look at your mentor and they see you as a stranger? What do you do, when all you are to your mentor is a a jumper to save before continuing on to the people he cares about?
"I lived with it." Mister Stark's reply was gentle, infuriatingly so, and it angered Peter. The older man would never understand, would never stop being better than Peter could ever be. He just... lived with it.
Peter couldn't live with it.

Deadpool startled where he stood, the whites of his bask moving up presumably with his eyebrows.
“Spidey I really really appreciate your confidence in me but I cannot kill the avengers buddy. At least not as fast as you need it done. You needed those fuckers gone like, yesterday.” Deadpool babbled for a moment before tapering off.
“It’s not the Avengers.” Peter said shortly, his stomach wringing.
“I know man.” Deadpool replied cooly. “It’d take a lot of money to get me to kill you though.”

Spider-man has built a shabby new life for himself since the world had forgotten him. Moving on from the old world had taken time, but he hadn’t survived the snap to continue to live his life as Peter Parker- of that much he was sure. The universe wouldn’t have felt the need to have him erased from existence a second time if that was true. The life he’s built is for Spiderman and his responsibilities to save as many people as he could now. It’s all he can do anymore.
Until, all at once, the avengers are attempting to unmask him. And Peter Parker is left desperately clinging to the shadows of Spider-man unwilling to re-enter a life without a mask.

AU. Nineteen year old Peter Parker has worked for SHIELD ever since he had a run-in with Nick Fury over alien technology a couple of years ago.
When Tony Stark and Happy Hogan are injured in an attack that uses unfamiliar alien tech, Peter is assigned by Fury as their bodyguard and informant. He has one rule he tells himself on missions. Or, well, one rule with three sub-sections: get in and out, stay alert, and do not get attached. (That last sub-section holds more weight than the others — by about forty percent, give or take.)
Morgan Stark — and, apparently, the rest of the Avengers, along with people he's tried to leave behind — are making the last part of that rule very difficult for him. Oh, and it turns out that Tony Stark isn't as big of an asshole as everyone makes him out to be. Who knew?

Spiderman observed a man with a metal arm tucked into an alleyway shedding his weird combat gear for newly stolen clothes. It was a scene the spider was all too familiar with, only he hadn’t swiped civilian clothes from the local vendors. Spiderman, the responsible fourteen year old he is, normally has a backpack with a change of clothes webbed up a wall. Sometimes.
“Do you got a receipt for those, buddy?” He shouted from the rooftop ledge.
Or: Peter Parker slowly moves into Bucky’s “temporary” apartment until it becomes a home.
(Note: “A little bit of this! A little bit of that!” ahh first few chapters. They’re so rough, idk what I was on. The later chapters are better I promise.)
