“Your Excellency…” Laurens’ voice lowered as he realized that General Washington was not in his office.
Instead, sitting at the desk was a young man too young to hold any high position, poring over papers and letters, only his wavy red hair showing.
“Yes?” He looked up, smirking.
It was obvious that Laurens was not referring to whoever the young man across the table was, but he seemed to enjoy playing with power. There was no trace of hesitation in his eyes as he accepted the title of ‘Your Excellency.’
“Forgive me, sir, I was hoping to find—”
“His Excellency is not here at the moment.” The young man toyed with the quill in his hand. “But I suppose I can be of assistance, sir…”
“John Laurens, at your service.” He held out his hand and straightened his posture, trying to look imposing.
“Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Hamilton and aide-in-camp to His Excellency, George Washington.” He shook his hand, a firm grip for such delicate hands. “Your humble servant.”
This follows the years of 1777 to 1782 and the relationship between Alexander Hamilton and John Laurens, to their first meeting all to Laurens' eventual death.

Summary
Alexander has no one.
No mother, no friends, not even a real home.
What he does have are a few precious keepsakes saved from the ruins of the hurricane that ravaged his island and nearly killed him, a brilliant mind, and a chip on his shoulder larger than he knows what to do with. Any living family that the fourteen-year-old has either doesn't want him or can't afford to take care of him, leaving him in and out of foster care since his cousin and uncle died, and after living in five different households in three years, he doesn't have much hope of things ever getting better.
When Alex is told he's being removed from the St. Raphael's Healing House after a prolonged stay to recover from his injuries sustained in the storm, and a month before Christmas no less, he's not surprised. Even still... a small part of him can't help but ache for a miracle.
He just never expected that miracle would come in the form of his newly-located biological father. George Washington; married family man, farmer, honorably discharged General of the United States Army... oh yeah, and up until a few days ago he'd had no idea that Alexander even existed.
The universe had a twisted sense of humour.

Alex has no use for Alexander Hamilton, or anything that his egotistical, screwed-up, moronic genius of a predecessor ever did. Reincarnation is the literal worst, and Alex has no intention of letting the mistakes of his former life screw up his chances to do better the second time around. The Department can stick him in yet another foster home if they like, but there's nothing they can do to make him stay. He's not interested in doing therapy, or making friends, or integrating back into society. If there's one thing he learned last time, it's that no-one will have his back.
But a new placement might mean a new beginning, if Alex could manage to get Hamilton's chip off his shoulder, and if he can ever figure out exactly why some of his new acquaintances seem so suddenly, achingly familiar.

Tulip’s Brew was a quaint little coffee shop that had seemingly endless flowers clustered on tables and bursting from corners. John Laurens, the owner of the establishment hummed as he set out pastries in the displays. Like every other morning that started like this, the door was pushed open in a rush as Frances Manning rushed in. John stopped humming along to the song to grin fondly at the teenager, who was bent over huffing.
"Sorry, I’m late John! I swear I would’ve gotten here before opening and helped set up,” she explained in a breathless rush. “But the subway was down because Magentix decided it was a great time to lace the subway tunnels with bombs.” The teenager finished with jazz hands.

Summary
Alexander Hamilton comes home from work to find Thomas Jefferson doing his laundry. Which is weird because they don't get along, Thomas doesn't live there and because Thomas is an omega and when an omega shows interest in an alpha's home it means they are trying to court the alpha.
And Thomas cannot possibly be interested in him right? RIGHT!
Or: Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton are so obviously in love with each other (everyone knows this except for them) but since they are enemies Alexander figures there must be another logical explanation, and Thomas wonders why none of his courting techniques are working.
