Summary
Ever since returning from Afghanistan John feels wrong, at odds with the world around him. It doesn't feel the same as it did, and he's plagued by a dream of something that never happened. But it felt as if it did, it felt real. A voice in it stirs unrecognizable feelings of familiarity which leaves the Army doctor confused, even more so when he meets the owner of the voice whom he'd never met before.
In a life as long as Sherlock's he doesn't expect surprises. However that's just what he gets when he finds a familiar scent drifting on the wind. One that died with it's owner more than a century before. And yet John Watson exists, not quite as he did before but it is still him. The same man, in a different life of his own, making a second appearance in Sherlock's.

Summary
In a world where the British Empire is still strong and slavery is her economic backbone, John has become a terrorist for the abolitionist movement. He is caught by Mycroft, enslaved, and given to Sherlock for training. The goal: To test a new kind of slave collar with the power to break even the strongest willed fighter. One that will make even John learn to love being a slave.

A week before Easter his school called: James had been found in his room unresponsive with an empty bottle of pills on his bedside table. John couldn't remember the remainder of the conversation. He tried to justify it in his head: maybe James was drunk and didn't know how many pills he was taking, maybe his friend tricked him into doing it, maybe he was sleep walking, maybe I'm dreaming because I refuse to accept my son committed suicide.
