Harry had been in love with Hermione for years but stepped back for Ron, thinking that was what Hermione needed and wanted. He loved her from a distance for years.
Ron refuses to let Hermione go. Hermione has wealth now that she knows her grandfather, and Ron loves her, but he misses the "allowance" Hermione used to give him. He tries to get her back, but something happens along the way that he didn't mean to happen. The Weasley family is divided. Molly and Ron are on the outs, while the rest of the Weasleys support Hermione and her decision to move on.
