Somehow, he ends up going on an all-expenses paid trip to a little slice of heaven in the Caribbean with his best friend, Penelope Featherington. He’s not used to traveling with another person, but he finds himself rather looking forward to the time away with her even if he’s not sure what to expect. He expects it will all go according to plan. What could possibly go wrong when embarking on a trip with your best friend after all?

Somehow, she finds herself agreeing to accompany him on a trip to Turks and Caicos after the Christmas holiday. Penelope was hoping a weekend away in a country cottage would be what she needed to get over her horrendous writer’s block. But then Colin Bridgerton appears in the middle of the night, and everything goes to shit.
