Rumi hates the hurt in her voice. It isn't fair to them. She has no right to be jealous, Zoey and Mira had gone to the bathhouse plenty of times without her, before they'd found out about the patterns. Before she'd been comfortable enough with her body to even consider showing herself to them. But it’s their thing too, Zoey and Mira’s, and they deserve to have one-on-one time if they want. Friends can have one-on-one time too, right? Friends or…whatever they are these days. More than that, Rumi had hoped.
Then Mira blushes, and Rumi isn’t thinking about friendship any more.
In which Rumi gets jealous, and decides that the solution is mind-blowing sex.

Mira’s chest was rising and falling too fast, her fists flexing at her sides. “What was what? He was trying to hit on you right in front of me.”
“So what?” Rumi shot back, though her cheeks burned. “You didn’t have to bite his head off!”
“Of course I did!” Mira’s voice rose, then faltered. She dragged a hand through her hair, glaring at the floor like it had personally offended her.
“Why?” Rumi asked, heart beating thunderously through her chest.
Say it, say it, say it. Say why you did it. Say that I’m yours. You have every right to be jealous. Just say it, Mira.

Knowing that the latter is a devout skeptic of the supernatural, they’re hoping their investigation will finally convert Rumi to the side of the believers, or at least capture some quality footage of their fearless leader getting jumpy.
Little do they know, Rumi’s not exactly human herself, and she’s going to protect her girls from any evil spirits or malignant demons.
Or, this is a Buzzfeed Unsolved AU where hunters don’t exist, and Rumi’s secret demon heritage allows her to protect her girls from all the things that go bump in the night while playing the resident skeptic to conceal her identity.

This time, she’s Zoey.

It must have something to do with the way the world shifted one day, how it broke apart entirely before being put back into place, starting to spin again as if it hadn’t come to a crashing halt. At some point, Zoey’s soul came loose. At some point, two more found a home.
The hollow spot inside of her chest waits, and then there’s a tug.
The entire world shifts, stopping on its axis again, and then it begins to careen forward. Dizzyingly fast and determined and loud. Then, in a voice that has remained just as stubborn as the soul who used it first, comes the command: “Find me.”
