    Bakugou and Todoroki are forced to tolerate each other during the remedial course, but their time together leads to them developing a friendship that neither of them expected. Their friendship eventually grows into something else.

    Filling in the blanks of the canon storyline when possible, both are inexperienced teenagers who don't know how to deal with feelings but will try anyway and Bakugou is surprisingly the most reasonable one.

    His eyes trace the ballroom; taking in the sight of coworkers- former teachers- allies and friends-

    -only to find one body, one solitary person remaining at a table on the opposite end of the hall; deliberately placed away from everyone, as far from the dancing as one can be, the two-toned hair of Shouto Todoroki sticking out like a sore thumb even in the low light.

    He doesn’t mean to make a big deal of it, honestly, doesn’t mean anything by it at all; but suddenly, looking at him and his soft face and his wide, eager eyes, the abrupt, unexplainable urge to go to him is so strong that his chest burns from the inside out.

    -And fuck, he must be getting soft, because before he can change his mind or give anyone a chance to stop him, he grabs his beer, refastens his jacket (like a class-fuckin’-act), and makes his way over to the the solitary body at the empty table across the hall.

    “What ya doing over here, halfie?" He asks.

    Like, not in the sort of I think I’m going to snap and kill everyone in the room. Definitely not when he’s tucked in Sero’s hammock like a leaf-wrapped banana slug delicacy, staring at the ceiling and counting all the ways to turn the projected red sketches of the digital clock into all the various numbers and letters, but —

    “I think,” Denki says eloquently, with the utmost sincerity, “that there might be something wrong with me.”
