Summary
Crown prince Xie Lian asks General Hua as a heat partner to fulfil the law of companionship which exists in Xianle. General Hua Cheng is shocked, but will rise to the occasion for dianxia, only to be further surprised when Xie Lian explains to him that he spends most of his heats reading books or playing cards. Xie Lian in turn, feels very strange about the fact that his heats, which have previously been about comfortable blankets, good food and company, suddenly takes on a sexual edge as he spends it with Hua Cheng.

“Dianxia, no!” Hua Cheng huffed.
Xie Lian set his soft-bristled brush aside and tucked a stray strand of hair behind his ear. He glanced over his shoulder to beam at Hua Cheng. “San Lang, you’re naughty to look before I sent for you,” Xie Lian scolded playfully. “You’ve ruined your surprise.”
Xie Lian returned to the silk canvas.
There, with fine strokes and blushing bright color, Xie Lian had painted precious Hong Hong-er, round-faced and wide-eyed, pudgy hands cupping a pink magnolia. Xie Lian hadn’t burdened this idyllic Hong Hong-er with any bandages, choosing instead to paint his right eye as red as Hua Cheng’s rain, as soft and full of light as befitting such a clever child.
