Summary
With the death of his King and the spiralling of his usurper, Eredin, as well as the inevitable threat of the White Frost that looms ever closer to his people, Avallac'h sets out to find Zireael in the hopes that she may be the only one to help. With their shared history, things won't be easy, and while Avallac'h might be the most appropriate teacher for the task of training Ciri's powers, he might not be Ciri's most preferred one.
This is the story of what happened when the Swallow and the Fox met a second time, and what happened previous to their appearing in the Witcher 3.
There are major spoilers for both the books and Witcher 3.Note 4/12-24: I realise my story is slow in coming into being, but even after 4,5 years, it still hasn't left my thoughts, and it probably won't until it is done, so if you're one of the few that are still hanging on; thank you so much! I hope I can work to deserve your patience.

Freya was waiting for him to let go, but even shaking from the tension of holding himself together, Baldur swallowed it all down, thick and bitter though it was.
“So, you’ll help me? You’ll get rid of it? The spell? I don’t want to do this anymore.”
He was begging her, pleading, laying himself bare, surrendering a part of him that was so raw, and it moved Freya to tears as she held him. She would do anything for him, anything he wanted, anything to ease his suffering… but not this.

A young god, Baldur is trying to figure out how life should be, when prophecy and fear leads him to become invulnerable at the hands of his mother, the Goddess Freya. Though thought a gift at first, he quickly realises how bereft and detatched the invulnerability truly makes him feel. Even being a god has left him entirely unprepared to deal with the fall-out, and he finds himself quickly spiralling into madness.
