Summary
Someone is trying to break the seal on the gate to the Sacred Realm in the name of the Calamity as more and more descendants of the Sages are vanishing just when an epidemic hits the ranks of the Knights Of Hylia. Hyrule prays that it’s legendary hero appears as it’s dangerous predicament deteriorates. Out of the ashes rises the phoenix and so will the hero. This is more than a retelling of the game, it’s a fanfic about a quest, maturing and growing up, as well as the tale of a victim of war, post traumatic disorder and the long road of healing to a somewhat normal life.
The first few chapters leads up to the game. I’m following the main plot of the game but also adding to it and making it more realistic.
*Work in progress updates won’t be as frequent as my previous fanfic. This will end up pretty dark, so may add more tags in the future.*

After an attack by the Yiga Clan years after the Calamity was expected to return, King Rhoam orders Princess Zelda to learn how to protect herself, which Zelda already doesn’t want to do. But, when she realizes her instructor is— in her own words—'a rude, impolite, stuck-up, bossy, condescending, disrespectful, arrogant, selfish, wretched young knight' named Link who she absolutely can’t stand from the moment she meets him, she’s determined to make this experience difficult for him as well. At least, that's what she intended at the start.
